okay ,it may not turn into as big a meet as those 'shandy drinking southern softies' but let's sound you out, midlanders......
let's have suggestions for a 'MEET PIE & BLAT' (sic)
1) location (large pub etc.)
2) day date
3) route for a blat

If we use a pub car park, lets find a decent pub with some scenery(NOT talking totty for a change) & kiddie facilities.
Day and date will always be contentious let's try an name one and stick with it.
route for a blat....must have a tunnels or several tunnels or just one big tunnel will do!!

If we sort it now ,gives us time to get any adjustments done early enuff.....
Clarion call to you all.....what about it?

p.s. car park will have to be black tarmac to hide my new oil leak

Speaking as someone of Norman descent, what's "shandy"? - Streaky

Regardless of spelling or definition issues ,as far as you're concerned Streaky...it is usually allied with the word 'hand'

There is always the Black Country Living Museum..

Ok on the face of it not that transport orientated, but they do have 10-20 cars 50 or so motor bikes, buses, fire engine, trolly buses and trams..

plus a pub, mac d's pissa hut across the road...

handy for me cos the tasmin is currently living in their workshop....

I also happen to know the MD of the place has been seen lying under a wedge in various paddocks... so i can have a work with him..

G

Severn Valley is also good for me well the kidder end,

or if kidder there is the new town centre extension that has a mac d and pizza hut with a few pubs in stumbling distance, or the water mill with a big car park...

Sounds good to me, anywhere will be fine, not sure about leaving them on the Black Country Museum car park though

Mine wont be finished until around March so I might have to turn up in the Fiesta!

Close ish for us but a 3 hour drive. May be able to come. Watching for details with interest. Don't count us in but maybe.

Due to the way my hours work, as much notice as pos to arrange leave, even weekends.

Ahh But these days its surrounded by a 6 ft fence with only one way in and out controlled by a token that you pay a quid for at admissions...

SO a tad safer than the hotel across the road... mind you that does have guards with dogs walking around it at night

if we hang fire on the date for now ....concentrate on the venue,Black country museum sounds good (everybody is always concerned about car security,it's natural - Graham seems connected to the right people ,so that looks good)
There's a starting point - like i say if we hold on for a while on the date (Blaine ..extra prayers for a fine day my son) but look at late feb - thru march, you'll be gagging for a Wedge fix by then surely?

p.s. any guys from North or East midlands have any preferences? would it be easier to base this meet in any particular area?

Sounds much better than the last time I went then, mind you I was born less than 10 minutes from there so I should'nt be so scathing !

Would be a good day out I guess, but would have to travel further afield to find some decent Wedge roads.

Andy.

You could rename it :

Stout and black pie meeting...

Real Men only.. no shandy drinkers allowed.. it's all true about us southerners though.
