Hey Chaps!

Dunno if some of you work from home and can take a couple of hours out - or just happen to have a day off, but the Steve McQueen 1971 film Le Mans is on Ch 5 at 10:00 hours today - just noticed. Mo TVRs though I think - but plenty of Porsche 917s and Ferrari 512s.

Noticed this and was going to video it - till I noticed that it is on Channel 5 - which still has snow in our area.

Why not buy this amazing movie on DVD, it's only £8 at Amazon! I think this is the best race movie ever made, with realistic driving, great noises, buckets of Le mans athmosphere and a story that's not as thin as in most race movies. Have fun, Hugo.

STEVE MCQUEEN - legend (he used to live in Malibu 'next door' to Keith Moon ,another legend, but also a complete nutter and part of one of the finest rock groups ever to grace the planet - Keith Moon quote " i don't acknowledge the concept of mortality, only immortality" - strange how life pans out eh?)

Sorry for getting side tracked

Father Ted : fan of
a) Steve McQueen
b) The Who
c) TVR
d) Lyons golden syrup biscuits
e) Goodfellas movie

To buy the DVD I'll have to go out and get a DVD player too!

This house still runs on steam - video needs connecting up so I couldn't tape it - and I think that runs on clockwork!

Steve McQueen, like Paul Newman, was a class racing driver in his own right. I think he actually did come second at Le Mans (just like the film) on one occassion.

I agree with one or two of your heroes Ted - but don't forget Keith Moon used to park his cars (he didn't have a licence!) in the swimmming pool.

Golden Syrup biscuits eh?! Not fig rolls?
