Just wondered if anyone else had come across the rear exhaust mounting on a 400 being postioned differently on the body to the one on the exhaust?

Looks like a previous owner brought a new exhaust for my car and had to cut the mounting off and weld it on further down closer to the tailpipe, unfortunatly it was welded a bit too high and the tailpipe has been resting on the body and burnt it a bit.

Would the exhaust on a pre hotwire car be different? should I have a SEAC exhaust really Any ideas? maybe Tim is best qualified to answer this one.

Andy.

IIRC there were about 5 different exhaust arrangments and it is quite common to mod to get a fit rather than send the system back. The over the rear axle bit is pretty common but from there it has changed quite a bit.
