Recently looking at the FED UP topic and seen the amazing picks of refurb jobs 6k plus body of chassi re done n all the nobs bells n whistles fitted, looks realy amazing,
Just got a 350i going to run it for a year or so before I do anything drastic but this is one job i am seriously considering at 6k its alot but wot kan you get for 6k that gives you as much pleasure, a ford fiesta!!!!!! no thanks.
If a job like this was don to a 5k 350i would it increase the value significatly to the serious wedgers amongst us, eg good argument to the girlfriend, or wud it be a purley for the love and have a 350i thats the dogs nutts????
Wot are your thorts????
Dont mind doing it for the love just have to live in the garden shed for 12months while she gets use the idea

Andy,
I kan mek the biggest cock up of the simplest of jobs, turn a small job into a big one, break the most expensive bit on the car without even knowing, throw away bits you kant buy any more, throw away bits you kan without realising they cost the earth and end up having to get somone into do it anyway.
I think this came from renovating 21VW Beetles before I was 21 you just kut em up bort new bits welded it up and away you go All big mistakes made with the first MG quater lights 110.00 each,in 1989!, threw old uns away koz they were a bit tarnished!!!! VW place £100.00 on panels and you needed a van to pick em up at the MG spot £100.00 and they gave you a nise carrier bag with the company name on it to tek the bits away in!!!!!
I think I will attempt having a go on my own first just to see wots involved, if am tekin it to be done anyway nowt to loose av I, but kant till the garage is built but like a say 12 month runnin it garge in action by then and undercover give me summut to do next winter i supose

Unfortunately with restore costs you never recoup them when using a professional, not heard of anyone who has been to the expense of Neil, myself and others who have been lucky enough to do so - excluding the 80s hysteria over classics when values were sky high. It may make the car more marketable in the future should you decide to sell but for most it is purely for their own benefit during ownership.. enthusiasts.. ..

Sorry to cross thread Jae but on a 'slightly' related point does anyone have any views on whether wedge prices have now bottomed out?

Umm, with respect I dont care?!? Swapped the E30 M3 for a wedge. Probably not the most financially secure decision, but the old girl still turns way more heads than the baur monster ever did.....BTW currently having a tickle on the FHC advertised on ebay. Not a SEAC I know, but will have one of them too soon, I'm sure.

judging by the amount of new owners turning up, I fully expect prices to start creeping up again.

HHHHMMMMMM Now theres the question the girlfriend asked
had a look under and the outriggers dont look 2 bad and its not in holes but after seeing the picks of Niels its got me mouth watering and the heart taken over the head if I get that bit spot on then new paint and interior sorted it will be a minter, brother has his own spry bake body shop so thats not gunna kost other than the paint, its not in too bad condition as it is but I do like stuff to be rite if the wallet allows
Im running it for a good few months first jus to mek sure I am truly in love an it aint jus a one short love affair If its stopping its gonna be done
