Chaps
As per prev postings - suggested a Midlands meet in the spring at my place but someone suggested Heritage which is a good idea.
I've spoken to them this afternoon and for £250 notes they will cordon off 100 spaces in front of the museum, give free entry for the 100 (usually £6 each)and do some banners. They have suggested a chap is trying to arrange a Griff meet for 30th July and needs to fill spaces so I will be chatting to him to see if we can do a joint affair. I guess the July bash would be a National Wedge fest though there does seem an apetite for a spring gathering - perhaps this will also take place but on a more low key basis.
I'm happy to do some arranging and perhaps try and sort the route though the Midlands is getting Camera happy - mind isn't the whole of Tony's Britain (00ps politics)! It's not that anyone would speed but it isn't much fun driving around glued to your speedo in fear of triggering a camera baccident and missing the Massey Fergusson.
Perhaps Father Ted, Blaine, AM400 & I could get together on this one. I was going to say put our heads together to sort it but 4 part brains do not a full set of marbles make - sorry lads

I'll see what the Griff guy sais. A big meet should get the TVRCC sanction so it's insured. Modern litigous world and all that.
We had 21 Wedges at Mania - what'd ye recon for a National Wedge fest?

Tas - shall we take it one step at a time ..

Can you make July ..

I think we should do our own thing and not really join forces with the Griffs ... as the numbers will get huge and no decisions will ever get made.

Lets see who can make it and if they like the kind of agenda then suggest ideas for venue and the exact agenda..

We could get all official and organise public liability insurance .. but who gives a F*** we are
not a car club just a bunch of mates driving here and there.. no need to involve TVR CC .. too many hoops and rules to achieve nothing.

Also - we need a name .. how about :

Arse. I'm on holiday that weekend. Missing a big wedge meeting is going to really piss me off.
I can't believe I'm going to miss another meeting. Having two young children means I'm not exactly blessed with a busy social calendar. Yet every time there's a meet on I would like to attend, I've got something else on. Is it too early for a Guiness?

Today is going to be a bad day. First I realise I'm going to miss the big wedge meet, then my insurance renewal pops through the door (don't worry, I won't start another insurance thread), and now I've just been informed that we're going shopping to a factory outlet centre. I hope it's a nice day tomorrow, I'm going to need a roof down fix.

Ref a route, Tas works just up the road from the Heritage centre and he must have abused all roads in the locality .....but really ,you are spoilt for choice around those areas....although you really should stay away from Stratford at that time of year (lovely though it is)..you would have loads of BBW's boiling up in the traffic....there are some lovely little villages and towns in that area (Charlecote,Hampton Lucy,Snitterfield or over to Evesham or North to the fantastic Warwick castle/Kenilworth castles and grounds(tho' again will be busy)....and of course not too far from David Gerald TVR....but..there are no major tunnels that i can recall (any one know?) but plently of narrow tall streets () and 'edge of Cotswold ye olde worlde' type of scenery.
Seamus is a bit closer to that part of the country aren't you? know of any tunnels?

I'm pleased this has been picked up! So what is the date - July 4/5?

There will be plenty of B&B's all over the place at reasonable rates. Maybe I can sort out a holiday to include the BBWF. Alternatively if Tas or womeone else in the area can explore the idea of a block booking for us at a local hotel, the rate per night per person/room can be brought down significantly. Whaddya think chaps? We can all gather in the same bar in the evening, and oil ourselves with a little of the local real ale! Maybe those technically minded can have a coneference room, where tips can be passed on, or slides/videos can be shown of recent escapades?

Wives/girlfriends can share cabs to visit local shopping malls/do lunch etc., whilst we all go for a blast and pop in to country inn!

In fact we could base ourseleves at the hotel and not worry about where to park our precious Wedges cos there will be parking there already!

Just thinking out loud - seems quite good to me.

hotels/b&b info for your perusal www.information-britain.co.uk/counties.cfm?county=3

Only Wicked Wedge Women (MrsH = legend) are invited surely? shopping is great on shopping days but not for the BBWF!
failing that,Warwick or Stratford for the non-WWW

P.S. Firefox ...date now 17/18 July ,Sorry Rev i got the W/end dates wrong, Does anyone if this clashes with 'Supercar Sunday' at the heritage centre? (that in itself is a fantastic day but no good for a BBWF.)
