East Grinstead Road just of the Crawley junction of M23 is the place to spot TVRs Griff, Chimp and Blue SEAC whilst drink a cup of tea at the dodgy burger van.

Blue SEAC looked like something was hanging low underneath! May have been exhaust, but didn't look like it to me. Hope its something simple!

Probably the SEAC exhaust - they all do that sir!

The extra-fat tube passes under the lowest point of the car, the diferential cradle. Bizarre design detail and the exhausts don't last long. All sorts of owner derived workarounds; splitting into two smaller pipes and rejoining; armour plating; or in my case - side pipes!

Ah that'll be the junction for Austec Racing then . What I need you to do is stand there all next week to make sure the mechanics don't take mine for too many test drives .

Wasn't brave enough to have a burger, and tea was more like dish water!!!

Has your car got metallic paint silverfox? It was about 9am and you were heading towards Grinstead from the M23.

If that was the exhaust I could see underneath then I bet they don't last long!!!

This video contains a SEAC accelerating away and the exhaust clearance (lack of...) is clearly visible.

Blimey Sean, you really got it back on the road?

Well mine is not as low as that ... It does not seem to hit the deck and it does go under the axle - double pipe after axle.

Perhaps the roads are better here !

I smacked my Diff cradle on the road a couple of times last year. Once around here and once in Yorkshire, both on B-roads with heavy camber and subsidence, An evil combination.

My last exhaust system which went under at the back lasted 600 miles and had a dirty great hole worn in it!

It was back on the road last July for a trackday in France but more recently it's been my commuting vehicle whilst the Pug was out of service.

Yes - the exhaust is low (by design and costing thousands of pints of beer in research & development time in Blackpool ).
