What is BBWF?

BBWF is the Big Bad Wedge Fest - primarily aimed at Tasmins as a single-model rally - but all TVR's and indeed other exotic cars have attended and are welcome. BBWF is in it's 7th year. And - best of all - it's FREE!

This year the TVRCC are listing the event in its calendar, too.

Where is BBWF 2010?

It's back at Ettington Chase Hotel this year. For the non petrolheads there is an indoor swimming pool, sauna, whirlpool and air conditioned gym, if you're staying at the hotel. Please do mention BBWF when booking and you'll get a great room rate! ROOM AVAILABILITY: there are still a few rooms left if you hurry as of 12th July, according to the Hayley Event Office - so there should be no problems booking by phone IF YOU QUOTE BBWF. If you have problems with the reservation line then call 017897400000 and dial 2 for the events office and the lady will sort you out onto BBWF - but do mention BBWF!! The Hog Roast will be billed to your room automatically unless you let me know in advance (see below).

When exactly?

Some of us will be there on the 16th July in the evening, the main day is Saturday 17th July, and a lot of us have a drive out on Sunday and go for lunch. But don't be afraid to turn up "on spec" on the day - the more the merrier!

What's happening?

The hotel has reserved parking space exclusively for TVR's. The day's events start at 11am although the car park will be open at 0930. During the day on Saturday we have the following activities planned (so far):

  • A charity raffle
  • Concourse competition.
  • Wedge Bakeoff Competition - bring a wedge-shaped or themed cake. These will be consumed in the evening after the judging.
  • Rat car award (don't be ashamed, bring it along! The more filler the better)
  • Wedge that doesn't look like a Wedge Competition
  • Loudest Wedge Competition
  • Furthest travelled to BBWF Competition.
  • Afternoon drive out
  • The usual traders:

  • Rolling Road
  • TVR Car parts.
  • RT Racing.
  • ACT.

On arrival you'll be directed to the appropriate parking space (wedge or not) and given a pack of information, with entry slips for the various competitions, map of the drive-out routes, etc.

In the evening we are planning:

  • A hog roast
This is £18/head and for those staying will be charged to your room unless you opt out.
If you're not staying, contact Adam for vouchers for the hog roast and pay before 16th June.

  • '80's & Wedge-themed disco
  • and of course the usual nattering at and around the bar.
On Sunday after breakfast:

  • A drive out in the countryside
  • Sunday Lunch

Who's coming?

See the stickies for a list of people coming, and please add your own name too so we can keep track of numbers for parking, etc. Don't worry if you only decide to come on the day - you'll be more than welcome! Even if you don't have a wedge!!
