Hi Cam,

What's different with your SEAC up front? As you can see one of my front diagonal tubes was relocated and I'm not exactly sure why!

I believe your car is later? Mines an 88.

Re the rear, I'm no techy when it comes to suspension design but it seems we're looking to have a rear suspension that works somewhat better than what was implemented at the factory. I believe following similar theory to Lotus in one or more of their models.

I'll get the low down on my next trip out to the resto shop in a couple of weeks.

Received the exhaust manifolds back from Camcoat today. Very nice finish.

Latest report back on the wires:

I need to replace the front suspension rose joints to set the suspension.

The old ones are no good….One has the ball broken out of the socket…and the others are seized.

We need:-

2 off Female 18mm bore….18mm x 1.5 thread.

2 off male ¾ bore….7/8 x 14 thread.

As they are for the front suspension….Quality is important.

Does anyone have recommendations on good quality components, brand with part numbers would be good?

Did I read another thread a while back regarding grease nipples?

Need to order a set fast driving

Steve,

I was responding to Adam and pointing to previous posts by both yourself and I.

Nothing to do with misquoting.

Sorry if it came over that way.

BTW, I'm hoping any welding and chassis repairs are out of the way prior to galvanising.

Check out the photo's above.

Hi Jason,

I'm afraid I cannot answer your question other than the fact the Tuscan racers were noticeably lighter than even the SEAC and probably had similar fully rose jointed suspension.

I'm sure other more knowledgeable people here can answer your question.

Latest update, taking a little longer and costing more than first thought (where have I heard that before);

I wonder if any of you can guess what I'm doing to the rear end? idea

Can't afford wheels.

Designing it to run on rails:

Yes, outboard discs using Jag hubs.

The drive shaft on the Jag is to long so we will have adjust the length.

Can’t use your old shafts as they have bigger uj’s and will not fit inside the hub.

Lower arms will not fit inside the tyre or rim. Also the fixing on the Jag hub is not the same.

We will end up with too many mods to the lower arms…so it will be better to make new arms.

Adam,

I'm aware of the unsprung weight issue/argument but would just like to follow the route of all the later TVR's. I also don't like looking at fresh air through the rear wheels laugh

Hubs are Jaguar not TVR.

I do not intend going mad in the power department and will only be using the car on the street so do not forsee any drive shaft issues.

New ali front hubs being machined so will end up with Jag pcd all round.

Stay tuned.

Henry,

New design fuel tanks will allow room for the 285's and at the same time will increase capacity.

A win win situation.

Alan,

Strange axles are very nice but really not needed considering the weight of a Jag saloon with V12 power, I'm sure the IRS will be fine- just need a proper job on the drive shafts.

Several guys at the Pod with Jag IRS running 9's with 800+ horses and no problems.

Cannot wait to complete front & rear suspension so we can strip back down and get the chassis galvanising out of the way ready for the rebuild.

Hi John,

I have decided to sell all left over stuff after the rebuild rather than as I go basis, that is other than the SH tie bars which I promised to Shaun if he still wants them.

Stay tuned.

Shaun,

Re rear tie bars I meant Wayne, sorry.

Yes Al. I'd love a powerhouse but in the interests of staying alive knocking on the door of 300 horses is more than ample for my old frame.

Adam,

This pictures for you re unsprung weight;

TVR on left (steel) Jag on the right (ali).

Aside from the fact the Jag is bare the weight different is horrendous, like at least 5Kg.

TVR hub looks like it was fabricated out of whatever was in the Blackpool kitchen - it's mess.

By next week I'll have the newly fabricated rear lower arms in place and front ali hubs.

Coil-overs all round of course.

Found brand new Brembo rear handbrake kits for £120.00, result.

Trying to find a PH'er who has access to all tech data on Brembo parts as their site is not the best re current OEM info.

Looks like we've found optimum front tyre size to go with the 285/30 rears, matching Conti sports in 255/30/18 - may have to adjust limit of lock to lock. We'll see.

A fair bit of twisting on the splines on the TVR drive shafts biggrin Not me ocifer.

All rear end parts including half shafts, bearings, UJ's etc will be upgraded from the original TVR parts.

Probably the weakest link will end up being the LT77.
