Thanks chaps.

Lots of ideas, like many others with their cars I'm sure but only sufficient funds for a few.

I do want it to look right even to the eyes of people that prefer originality.

I'd like to think I've ironed out some of the problems many of us complain about, if you know what I mean.

See you all at the fest.

I already posted a couple of update images on another thread but thought best to reproduce here;

Rebuilt diff now mounted c/w Quaife ATB;

Front brakes mounted just waiting for zinc plated Gaz shocks & springs;

Front shot just showing mounts for Ford RS2000 rack;

Rear alloy Jag hub modded & rebuilt & powdercoated silver.

I hope by the end of March to have full rolling chassis with brakes & fuel lines installed.

Fingers crossed.

Hi Phil, That chassis looks great, sensible modifications to improve on the original; to a very high standard. Do you think we're going to see it on the road this year?

Hi Martin, Hi Al,

If it is on the road this year I'm afraid it will not be until the end of the year at this rate.

There's still some custom fabrication work I wish to do further down the road and it's those jobs that eat up the time.

I'll report in again soon.

Crikey Phil .. some serious changes going on there..

Alloy humbs, outboard brakes, different anti tramp bar, rear suspension linkages different - all just the rear.

The list goes on.

Those rear brakes gave me an idea - why can't we have two brake calipers on the front too - twice the braking effort ;^)

Ha ha Mark,

No, all the nice stuff will be underneath and out of site - it's just another wedge LOL.

Hi Alan,

What's next with your machine?

I want to see that on the road this year.

Funds will not allow me to complete mine this side of summer so probably ready for spring 2014:-(

Had a few fuel leak issues .. being sorted with welded joints on the fuel rail and aeroquip all the way to the fuel pump.In Progress.

Also need to get electric ps pump wired in (huge wires).

My bespoke made plug leads did not fit properly .. getting that resolved.

Had an issue with TB's getting stuck when hot ... hopefully fixed with realignment.

That's about it.

I'm looking forward to seeing it again whenever it's ready!

I see you've had the rear spring lower mounting moved off the through bolt and onto a seperate bracket. Was that to clear the handbrake calipers or did the guys have a theory on why that would be better?

Update.

Just before we drop the body back on and away for paint thought I better take a few camera phone shots of the rolling chassis now with all GAZ suspension components on and Goodridge brake lines.

Getting there, getting there.
