Took the Wedge out for a spin today ... wonderful.

But, a puzzle with the indicators:

1) LH indicators work OK.

2) RH indicators work OK.

So what's the puzzle?

3) All indicators flash when setting/unsetting the alarm.

So what's the puzzle?

4) All hazard flashers (I was testing things on my drive) work BUT (and here's the puzzle) ... ONLY if the RH indicators selected. Otherwise only the LH lamps flash. This applies with ignition on and off.

A quick look at the "bible" doesn't suggest anything immediate, so ideas on where to focus attention (I know, I know ... the relays ) would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Streaky

Arrr, well if you have an early 280i, there is one flasher for indicating, and another for the hazards. The hazard switch should short both indicators together via the higher power flasher, whereas the normal indicator flasher is low power.

I reckon your problem is the hazard switch, try reseating the connector to it, that usually works.

I agree also - those switches can easily be dismantled and the contacts cleaned

390SE. Thought about the connector and wiggled it with my finger through the hole where the cigar lighter would be ... if it was there. Despite demonstrating the sort of digital dexterity that could have got me a job as a gynaecologist (gee, spot the joke there!), I was unable to effect any change in the condition of the hazard flashers. Tomorrow I'll try harder myself ().
