Anyone know if there should be any play in the front wheel bearings on a 400se?
Had mine jacked up and noticed I could rock the wheel just a touch.
Is that OK?

Andy - they are adjustable ..

Remove wheel , remove centre cap on hub, remove split pin, tighten slighty - and reassemble.

Do not over tighten.

Ford Granada parts.

So how much play should there be? Do I tighten till there's no wobble, or just a bit of wobble?

Nip it up until there's no play, then back off till the next split pin hole lines up. A small amount of play in a taper roller is OK for MOT.
It's an 'experience' thing.

Thanks everyone. Will get nipping. MOT next week and new suspension, 4 wheel alignment, little engine diagnostic tweek (decided to wait for the full rolling road till it's got a few more miles on it) and then it's ready for Le Mans

I have to say since the rebuild that the performance is hugely improved , and the noise just keeps getting louder and harder and meaner!
