Light Pod Woes
Discussion

Right then, just before the MOT the bloomin light pods decide to take no notice of the switch & do what they want.
When I put the switch on sidelights, the passenger side pod comes up as it should but when I put the switch on the second position it goes back down!. The drivers side pod has gone on strike altogether. The lights themselves behave as they should.
Fuses & relays all seem good. Anything else to check?
Cheers.
Usually strange faults that operate unintended bits are lost grounds on one of the two items concerned. When I put the switch on sidelights, the passenger side pod comes up as it should but when I put the switch on the second position it goes back down!. Lights and turn signals are the common problem areas because there are four functions using a common ground. Make it five with pop ups.
Long bit of wire, croc clip on both ends, one end firmly on battery ground, get in there and "add" this good ground to all your ground connections in the front end whislt yelling to wife "try it now"
Start on side where the motor is phantom operating, you needn't do the motor ground BTW, we know that's good
ETA my guess...side light ground run.
