Peter Wheeler use to drive a Tasmin turbo long before the fixed head turbo was made. Exhaust used to run above prop shaft which melted electric window switches at least twice a month.

That was before he bought the factory.

Start by asking Swansea for a complete list of former owners. Going by the NCT2s it looks like the car hasn't done many miles.

I'm fairly sure this was all about the same car....

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Some of us know it, and some of you will remember some heated responses to various comments.

If it is the same car as I remember it always seemed a little strange as it was a non FI engine with a SU carb set up on a suck through system, bad for fuel drop out and not the best to pump raw fuel through the turbocharger, but never the less it did work.

Regards,

Chris.

If I remember correctly there was a feature in the TVR Sprint magazine about the Taz turbo convertable a couple of years back. Was quite an interesting article but I no longer have a copy. Might be worth trying the TVR Car Club's archivist to dig up more info on your car.

Will do some digging around and will get back to the thread .Is it a tecnik turbo by any chance? and has the drivers seat position been altered and moved back for obvious reasons.

These people say they own the only tasmin turbo ever built?..Was it a technics turbo kit?..I located a kit (secondhand of course)But it wouldnt fit on my 280i due to the exhaust manifold(passenger side)and a chassis rail being so close..Shame as it looked like the cheapest option for more power..

I think that that is the one referred to in the thread mentioned above by Chris. The description is that Google link is so full of mistakes that you can't believe a word that they say. That gold one and the one near the beginning of this thread both claim to be the only soft top Tasmin Turbo. IIRC Steve Reed looked at the black one with a view to buying it, can't remember whether he did. Certainly the only car that was ever shown to the public by TVR was Chris's car and that barely had a body.

Holy thread resurrection, Batman! eek
I note that the buyer of that DHC Turbo (mitsubishi) has only ever made two posts, guess he didn't need the collective wisdom of PH then wink

The car is currently snowed in - inside my barn so i can't get the turbo-make. Haven't thought of looking for seat misalignment. This is my first ever TVR so i don't know too much about them. Learning along the way smile
