Anywhere in South Wales that hires these out? Found a website that hires out car transporters that can be driven on a car license, but they are not local.

Trying to help a friend bring an Un-roadworthy Morris Minor from Cornwall.

Pontyclun Van Hire do one, or at least they did 2 yrs ago. Not that expensive IIRC.

Try bank farm trailers in Newport or Bridgend, they do brain james car transporter trailers for circa 20-25 a day. I hired one last week :-) if no tow bar then hire a transit double cab tipper with tow bar from burnt tree for 35quid a day.

Thanks guys. Unfortunately I don't think I can tow a trailer that size without taking a test, thats why I need a transporter that can be driven on a car license.

Pontyclun is just round the corner from me, I'll give them a bell, thanks!

Rickky, I'm just around the corner from Pontyclun as well. I see from your profile that you are a gas engineer, I have a powerflue gas fire that needs to be looked at, would you be interested?

First post so a big hello to everyone. Its about time i joined this board!
Its an old thread i'm dragging up here, but I need to get my 1989 polo coupe from Neath up to longlife exhuasts in swansea for a custom system as ive just completed an engine conversion and cant drive it as it is.
Can anyone suggest a cheap meathod to do this?

thanks again folks You all seem like a fountain of knowledge already! ive secured a loan of a proper towing bar so will hopfully use that to save on the pennies. This engine conversion has already cost me X3 the price i paid for the car!!
Ive been trying to read if its legal to tow as it has tax but no MOT. so many different opinions out there lol

Personally I would just cover up the number plate when it was on the trailer so no ANPR cameras pick it up.

I would assume that it's not going to be on a trailer but, as above, on a rigid bar.

BUMP!

Bank Farm Trailers as recommended here arent doing car transporter trailers now sadly. Anyone know where I could hire one for a week around Cardiff - needs to be chunky one to carry a low slung 2000Kg.

Thx

Thanks mate and had actually called them. Zero discounts for a week hire so ends up way too expensive sadly (and found that a bit unusual). I can hire a complete £20k car cheaper for a week!

I expect you have this sorted by now but...

I used to hire a one from the towbar fitting place on Cowbridge Road at the Ely roundabout end, next to the discount car yard (who are also pretty good to deal with BTW!)

Have had to give up on the trailer idea as did some calcs and its a couple of hundred kg more than the Beemer can tow. Looking for other options now.
