If you want to keep it Italian then you should take at look at these. Ive got Ragazzon on my 166 and its epic at high revs but civilised for normal use if that makes sense.

Wouldn't touch Longlife, their attitude stank and they wanted £260 to make up an elbow for my Evo.

I used Charlie at Prospeed in Cardiff under recommendation from Indigo-GT and he did it in 3" stainless for £90. The trip up was worth it just to see his collection of cars.

Another vote for Prospeed.

Charlie made me a turbo-back system for my Evo fitted for under £700.

I have used both prospeed and longlife on a few occassions each and i have had mixed experiences of both really. Both have had cowboys working for them in the past. Charlie was better at sorting out my problems than longlife though and long life are far more expensive for the same quality item and service in my opinion.

I wasn't massively impressed with Pro-Speed last time I visited there.

Got the job done but felt like they had other priorities and I was almost in their way by bringing the car to them. Not a great experience.

I have had 2 Long Life systems.

The key is researching the fitter. Some are fantastic and some are poor. I have had no issues with either system and both fitters used were fantastic.

Do your research properly and you will know if they are good or not.

I have to agree with this 100%. I find that any business you use enough times will eventually let you down one way or another and often thats due to an individual without the expertise or without care or passion for what they are doing. I have felt at prospeed i was not priority at times and other times there i was. Longlife have built more systems for me but the last one was a quad tail pipe system on an MR2 but they were not all the same level so i went back. I expected them to say leave the car with us and we will get it off and sort it out but instead a big fella with 2 bars walked out, jammed one in each tail pipe and started jumping up and down on it!! That was the last time i used them, just could never go there again after that!!

Go to Pro-Speed. You'll get better quality stainless and a cheaper price.

Lol! I am getting a Hayward and Scott system this time as they are local to me and have great reviews.

Seriously fella. Just do some digging and you will soon find out where and where not to go.

To be honest, in future if there is a factory built off the shelf option that suits me needs I will go down that route next time.

If it is something specific you are after then a custom system is not a bad choice.

If I were to get a custom system again I would go back to Prospeed as the system I have is very good.

I would suggest getting a quote from both businesses and then discussing your thoughts and concerns with the respective owner or manager and see what comes of it.....

Intriguing discussion....

I'm looking for someone to build a system for my 400SE wedge, but I'd like a smaller silencer (you know why, but also for clearance reasons) same tailpipe as stock, and also to reposition the tubular manifolds with new gaskets so I'll know the entire system is sorted smile

Would either establishment do this, or will they just build the exhaust?

The quote I have from Longlife is very good, and are offering further discounts for Jan 14, plus it's not so far for me to travel (I live in Carmarthenshire)

They can build anything you ask for pretty much. I have seen some amazing custom work on a variety of cars both on here and while waiting for mine to be done at Prospeed. Pretty sure someone in this section had prospeed build a system for their wedge not a million years ago.....

If you think that longlife have given you a good deal then i would certainly suggest giving prospeed a ring for a quote.

Speak to Dan at Autolusso & get him to sort you one like mine. A day trip to Luton is doable smile
