bought the supersprint system, two back boxes and the center pipe, will not put the price on here just incase the better half reads it
My mate rang me and left a message on the answerphone saying he'd paid £500 for an exhaust but was telling hi Mrs it cost £250. Sadly for him, he'd rung his own number, accidentally and his wife picked up the message...but saw the funny side.
I had a long life system put on mine, happy with the service, price was reasonable. although they were suppose to get back to me about a price on a remap on my car (not a standard ECU apparently) and they also stuck a longlife sticker on my bumper without asking me which i thought was very cheeky

A rather odd and bitter first post on a topic 2.5 years old !!!
Especially when complaining about Longlife Surrey on the South Wales section....
Let me give you a clue....
When looking at a map of the UK, you'll see a bumpy bobbly bit above the pointy leggy bit on the bottom left... that is South Wales...
Surrey is sort of across to the right below Lundinium about 130 miles away...

Didn't realise this section of the forum was specific to South Wales. However, when I was looking for reviews online relating to Longlife, it didn't really matter where they were based - I wanted to know what is their quality of work and if it's worth going to them as a chain etc...
My experience was dreadful and I wanted to share it with others considering Longlife for their exhaust work.
Also, to be honest if you type in "Longlife Review" in Google this is page is one of the top posts that comes up, hence i posted my experience here...
Here is the intro from the review, if anyone was wondering, as I removed the detailed version:
"I had a truly awful experience getting an exhaust installed at Longlife Surrey. The cat-back system they installed on my BMW 645 didn't sound right, was poorly made, inadequate and of substandard quality. I had it on my car for a few weeks, before taking it off, scrapping it and getting the entire exhaust system completely replaced elsewhere."

So you will make your mind up about the quality of workmanship and try to influence others based upon a single instance/reference to a single location...?My experience was dreadful and I wanted to share it with others considering Longlife for their exhaust work.

Personally I'm not so judgmental as when looking at a group/chain/franchise the quality of the work is very dependent upon on the personnel at the location doing the work... so a judgment based on some work done in Surrey will PROBABLY have little or no relevance to the quality of workmanship carried out in Cardiff or Swansea...
To balance things up, my M5 has a Longlife exhaust system (fitted by a previous owner) and I can see or hear no issues that would make me think it "didn't sound right, was poorly made, inadequate and of substandard quality" and I'm comparing it to the custom made system I had fitted to my previous M5 which was done by Hayward and Scott in Basildon and is guaranteed for the duration of the time that I own that car...

Not had any work done there but have heard a lot of good reports about them. They always seem to have some nice cars parked outside too.Gassing Station | South Wales | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
