Maybe this will help them get some real investment into the project. That said, its not really worth a lot if they cant get the thing built so I still have my doubts.....

what i think tends to happen to popular tracks is not only do they attract customers and then business but attracts businesses of an engineering nature…this may not have happened at castle combe because of all the golfer neighbours but donnington under new ownership has attracted some major sponsors and investment and silverstone and brands have lots of engineering specialists in proximity….

They're still pushing it on Twitter:
https://twitter.com/CircuitOfWales

But I don't think they've started any building yet. It's quite hard to tell since there's so much construction going on up there due to the A465 dualling project.

I've still got my fingers crossed smile

I was talking to someone working on the project. The site has outline permission only, but detailed work is progressing.

Funding is apparently nearly there too for phase 1.

It certainly isn't.

Shame, I was looking forward to having a big circuit nearby - but I think it always seemed a bit unlikely!

Yes but it looks like CoW has reached an agreement with Silverstone to host the event in 2015.

They were never planning on holding the event at the Circuit of Wales this year it was always planned to be at Donnington but this has fell through and is why it is now being held at Silverstone.

The public consultation is taking place this week in the Gwent Archives in Ebbw Vale (Old steel works building, by the new college and leisure centre). Suggest you call in to show your support if you can.

Apparently,on BBC Wales news last night, it was reported that the last bit of legal red tape had been done, reverting common ground to land that can be owned and built on,it seems this has not gone away yet..
