So which one have you offered on, the Llnacarfan one? Apologies if I am being a bit thick here!

We offered on the The Old Granary barn conversion near St Athan.

We were considering an offer on The Willows in LLancarfan but they accepted an offer from elsewhere.

Best of luck. A lot of space and looks ready to move straight in, and that courtyard looks great.

Hello hello! This just popped up.

I found this property on the Rightmove Android app and wanted you to see it: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/s6p/33786183

I think this is cheap given the character for the area. You'd need to budget for a nice timber framed garage mind...

Not read all the thread but Cardiff North is lovely (Rhiwbina, llanishen, Lisvane). On the outskirts of Cardiff so still transport in - train is the fastest way in by a long way. But still close to the green belt between Cardiff and Caerphilly and the M4 for access elsewhere.

8.5 hours behind the wheel and 3 house viewings later and... We're still looking.

The house in Graig Penllyn was a no from me, as was the one in LLancadle.

The one in Llanblethan is definitely over priced.

We have found another possibility for SWMBO to investigate though

You'll find something eventually, but its a thankless task until you complete. Most properties in Llanblethian are overpriced - its the nature of the place!! Any developments on the Old Granary?

Happy hunting.

After another fruitless search last weekend I am starting to get a bit panicky.

The contract has arrived for the sale of our property and the buyers have arranged their survey. The EA have rung today to say the buyers at the bottom of the chain are due a baby in early May.

I really didn't expect it to take this long to find the right place and it seems there isn't much comimg onto the market.

What is available and suitable seems to have been on the market for a long time as its either over priced (lots of vendors not in a hurry to sell) or needs lots of work doing.

I've tried widening the search area but struggling to find something within reasonable commuting distance, in budget (or slightly over that we can negotiate down)that is even vaguely wowing us.

Are we expecting too much.

I've started to look at the rental market but with a dog, four cars and a house full of stuff to store (or move twice) I'm not having too much luck.

Suggestions on a postcard please?

All I can say today is banghead I give up.

Between Estate Agents not giving you the full picture (despite claiming they have) and certain parties placing restrictions for no apparent reason, how the hell am I ever going to find somehwre.

I give up. Its hard enough trying to do this by remote control without the local party failing to engage bangheadbangheadbanghead

Thanks Rhod.

Funnily enough I had been looking around that area this afternoon. After all, I'm not the one who has to commute to Cardiff (well, not at the moment) wink

The last one is intersting and very much a petrol head's property.

I live in Bridgend and commute at the moment to Cardiff Bay. I use the A48 to culverhouse cross and then the link road (A4232) to the bay. This takes 35-40 mins most days.

My last job was based in the Heath at the medicentre. I used to allow an hour for the journey from Bridgend. That was to allow me to get to the office and start at 9am.

Good info. Thanks Matt.

SWMBO tends to be in work around 8AM (although she doesn't have to be) so presumably that might reduce the travelling time a little?

http://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/36010698?...

Huge housing estate, which was a non starter for you from memeory. It can be a night mare to get off in the morning unless gone by 7.30. Makes getting to Cardiff a bit of mare in the mornings, unless you don't mind being say in a queue.

Not a bad location, built by the owner, an architect. I sold him the plot. smile But still on a large housing estate.

Quiet locations, but suffer the same traffic issues as the first one as they are about half a mile from the Broadlands estate.

Always thought this courtyard was a bit squashed in.
