Hope you enjoy cardiff. Don't forget to ask if you need recommendations of places to go/shop/visit etc

Yes, this. You're pretty much just round the corner from me in Birchgrove. So if you need anything local just ask on here and someone will advise.

Cheers people.

Well, on our first full day in Cardiff we managed to spend the evening house hunting in the Vale in the Tiv with the top down and 20+ degrees.

Living the dream biggrin

Very nice indeed!

I was down the Knapp on Sunday. Have you been/considered it TT? Ok, it's it Barry which isn't to everyone's taste but it's bloody lovely.

For weird family politics reasons its not a place we can consider. I'll explain sometime but not on here.

Ok.

Well there's a wealth of stunning areas that would suit. Sadly housing supply is limited and seems really scarce at the moment.

I assume you're scouring rightmove, zoopla and onthemarket? I found the email alerts to be really handy.

Oh, and another thing. When you buy I can recommend a solicitor to avoid as they are slower than sammy the wheelchair confined snail.

Couldn't be as slow as the one we tried to engage on the purchase in Llancarfan that we pulled out of. It took them two days to tell us they couldn't act for us irked

Glad you said that as I thought it was just my lack of knowledge of the local market.

The one we did a drive by on last night was in Wick. What the details didn't mention was it backs onto The Star Pub. So I cancelled the viewing this morning.

Am I mad to be considering this? http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

- 30 minutes on the train into central Cardiff - SWMBO has been told she's moving to an office block just outside the centre (10 min walk) as of Sept.

That one in Wick is strange (if it's the one I'm thinking of). It's normally always unoccupied and has been since it was built.

Have a drive round Porth first, if your OH doesn't like St Athan, I doubt she'll like it up there either!

Not the valleys!

Its surprising how difficult the double garage requirement makes it. These look nice.

First one gardens are very small albeit it's a nice house in a nice village. The second one is in the car park of the primary school.

If you're looking at the badlands (north of the A473! tongue out) this is old money class but has no garage. Plenty of land and budget to build your own lovely timber framed garage to your own spec though.

This barn conversion is very nicely done and again the opportunity to build and configure your own dream garage...

Or you could rename this the Pie and Piston and have a bit of a career change! hehe Lovely pub.

The first one - we like Colwinston. Will go and view it tomorrow.

The second one backs onto a primary school. See earlier posts about it. ;-)

Yet another property I have worked on! (St Mary's Church)

It was a new build around 5-6 years ago, the company I worked for at the time did the plumbing. I do all the work for the house builders myself now. That house and the four across the road are built to a very high standard.

It does get busy in the mornings and afternoons with the school, but St Mary's Church is a really nice village and a very sort after Primary School.

We like St Mary Church but the location is a deal killer. Your back garden backs onto the school playground entrance.

Next door to me has a double garage, plus room for expansion. Am I to far away?

Don't know Vince as no idea where you are.

Is there a link to the house on rightmove?

There's more to it than just the garage.

We found a great house with space for 6 cars, a workshop and about an acre of ground all in our budget - but the area was not what we wanted.
