Tell me about it.

She has now supplied the gas cert which seems legit and has advised she will be removing the lounge carpet. rolleyes

Just have to press on.

Now the removals company are umming and arring about when they can deliver our effects.

so she's taking a perfectly good carpet up, that has been cut to fit the room its currently in and is highly unlikely to fit a room in her new place, without the need for cutting it again. madness!!

Looks like it was her intention all along to get the new buyers to stump up the cash that she chose to spend replacing the carpets.

Its worse than that. Its in the two main downstairs rooms.

Biggest concern is that when it was fitted one of the rooms had a parquet floor down which SWMBO likes and its probably been damaged by having the gripper rods nailed through it. frown

Ahh Sh#t!! Depending on what cowboys company she used they may not have nailed all the grippers down. the ones who did mine nailed the ones nearest the door and windows down and glued the rest

I had a similar problem with parquet flooring in my place and although its a pita, you can, with patience, fill and stain the holes left by the carpet grippers.

It's minor issue in the great scheme of things. I'm sure I'll spend many happy hours on my hands & knees whatever the outcome.

Hoping to complete on Friday!

Its very common. Strange how attached people are to things like carpets.

She can't be that attached to the carpet. It only went down a few weeks ago. I think its more that she's a small minded, tight fisted, unreasonable "lady".

Are you completing (moving in) tomorrow? Have you exchanged now then?

Not yet Kris. Waiting for the bank to transfer the funds and hoping for simultaneous exchange and completion tomorrow.

Nipped passed the house this morning after going to the bank to do the CHAPS transfer and its still there!

We won't be able to move in until the removals company can deliver our stuff from storage and at the moment they are being cagey about a date. They haven't committed to anything yet.

Majorly pissed off as the CHAPS transfer hasn't gone through. Banks are fking useless!

ETA: Just spent 30 mins on the phone with the bank tearing a strip off them - Apparently there was a "processing error" at the branch. Or I suspect, to put it another way, someone royally fked up!
