No Gary, they aren't tiles. That's hideous 1970's lino I was showing. It just happens that the corner was missing.
Shame - they look worth saving wink

Lino on lino - it's the only way smile

Are we still on for "Mr Shifty" this Friday? I have a BNI meeting first thing, but should be clear by Ten.

Why me? Just why me? Did I kill a vicar in a previous life.

Due to the move, after today we will be without comms (not brilliant mobile signal - intermittent at beest - and BT are useless) until Tuesday, so I rang removals & storage co this morning to confirm delivery on Monday of all our household goods.

Guess what? He CLAIMS that "your truck" is in bits in the workshop. Now pardon my scepticism but they were hedging about delivery in their busiest time and he seemed most relaxed about it.

They wanted 2 weeks notice and I gave the 3. banghead

Surely they just hire one and carry on as normal? Broken down truck is NOT your problem.

They can't. Its a specialist vehicle that uses containerised storage. Not the usual metal ones but wooden boxes made to fit their truck. I had a conversation about it with the driver when they were packing up.

Right - more packing from the flat before Vince arrives and shouts at me.

Kin el Alan. You must have gone around kicking cats and shouting at kids in a former life!!

You'll get there in the end.

I think its karma for the continuous bad jokes he keeps throwing about wink

they do say moving is stressful, but who'd have thunk it was going to be this stressful!? its enough to put you off moving house for a long time yet! (current re-move not included)

I doubt you'd have much of an argument against them "breeching contract" should they not get the van on the road ready to deliver at the arranged date.

RE poor signal. Depending on the network your with you can now get WiFi calling features on phones, its been a massive improvement to me recently as I didn't get signal unless I was sat on one specific step on my stairs or actually outside the house, or you may still be able to get signal booster boxes from your network provider too.

Oh dear!

If it's any consolation, I managed to save a decent digital programmer and wiring centre for you, from a heating system I ripped out this week.

I've contacted Cardiff Museum to see if they're interested in the one currently fitted...

LOL- thanks Ricky. You've lightened the mood.

Many thanks to Vince - yes he is shifty but in a good way and helped to add a little levity to the day.

Once again thanks to all for the help and support and I'll post if I get opportunity and signal in the next couple of days.

Finally BT have deigned to connect the phone and broadband. woohoo Needless to say it wasn't straightforward and involved an hour on the phone to Bangalore and much shouting at stupid people who didn't give a crap.

We are finally to be reunited with our lives (allegedly) on Thursday.

I managed to investigate the contents of the loft today.

the fact you weren't eaten alive or taken hostage by the house's temporary inhabitants is a good sign for the loft investigations!

No priceless paintings or gold bullion hidden away up there I take it wink
