Hallway cleared today and many more boxes emptied. Just beginning to see the light.

Anyone got any recommendations for a quote for guttering, fascias and soffits?

Progress on the room I took the fireplace out of.

Looked like this:

Now looks like this:

I just need to locate some hardwood skirting. Its sapelle I think and the usual DIY places don't stock it.
Anyone know anywhere I can get some locally(ish)?

A personal visit is always best. The point is that if you want a unique section, Paul can run it on the six cutter for you.

Nice floor! Did you lay it yourself and what is it? I am looking to do similar sized room and was looking at oak planks but that looks great.

Sorry Mike, didn't see your edit.

Its laminate from B&Q believe it or not. 12MM so quite expensive and I can honestly say that fitting it to a regular shaped room is quite easy. Its the irregular bits that cause the problems.

I fitted it and funnily enough I am putting the finishing touches to it today with some help from a fellow PHer. (Thanks Martin).

I'll see if I can put up some more pics later if interested.

Mike, I see you're quite local. You're welcome to come and have a look at it fitted if you want to and I'll be happy to explain the advantages and disadvantages of the pattern, size and weight of the floor.

If you're fitting to a complex shape room don't go for this pattern.

First of all apologies for not updating this thread for a while.

The last few months have been busy to say the least but we haven't forgotten all of you out there that helped us in our search for the house and various other advice in support.

Particular thanks to RyanTank for all his help with moving heavy stuff and keeping up my flagging spirits with his visits. To Rickyy for helping with the central heating issues and to Martin (can't remember his posting name) for help with the flat and various other advice and support.

Thanks to Hornetrider (we must meet you very soon) for his help with checking out houses and general advice and to Vincej for his assistance with moving stuff in general.

Thanks to the TVR boys in general for advice and being so welcoming.

We haven't forgotten that we promised a get together as a thank you and as soon as the weather perks up we will spark up the BBQ.

I have now managed to find gainful employment which ended up taking considerably longer than we have anticipated. Start date yet TBC but it is a weight off the mind.

Happy Easter and look forward to seeing you all soon.
