Vantage based cars are known as Roadsters, not Volantes. wink
I stand corrected on this one as it was a new style but proper ones (☺️) are Volantes. (See my other spot.)

No, I checked after I'd posted; it's a fake. A good one though. I think the bonnets are different to the TR7 with an extra bulge or two. It was nicely done and just felt right.
I believe the TR7s had the same bonnet bulge. It's coming up as having the correct engine size of 3528cc. To be a genuine TR8 I would think that it would have to be factory built, not modified to TR8 specification later.

It's a fake. It comes up as a TR7. I wish I'd checked before posting.

Don't know what else to say really. It's a fake.

All TR8s are based on the TR7 so that doesn't surprise me at all. There have been other instances of wrong car details on databases. It comes up with the exact engine size for the TR8's Rover V8 engine.

Cannot believe that we have established that there is a 722 SLR based in Swansea and a Neath business owner that owns a regular SLR and we are bhing over this:

^ true that, I appreciate old cars but my word that's minging.

just got back from site, going there I spotted a new S63 Coupe driving past Amazon, and coming back from site I passed a lady driving an SL63 possibly a 65. Looked very mean.. Reg was something like W7 PRO.

surprised how many nice cars I see in Swansea these days, im there a lot more with my day and night job and I always seem to catch something of interest on almost every trip!

just got back from site, going there I spotted a new S63 Coupe driving past Amazon, and coming back from site I passed a lady driving an SL63 possibly a 65. Looked very mean.. Reg was something like W7 PRO.

Yep I am the same, it also looks like its been "Barry'd" too.

I am really looking forward to seeing the new S-Coupe on the road. I think the latest flagship Mercedes look fabulous.

In regards to the "W7 PRO" car, if its the one I am thinking of, its an R230 SL350 with an SL55 front and then a facelift SL63 rear. Its also badged as an SL63 from memory. Every time I have seen it the car seems to be going below the national speed limit, however, I haven't seen the driver as it has pretty dark windows. I am 99% sure this is what you seen, despite being an underpowered mongrel of a car, it looks pretty good smile

..badged and dressed as a 63/65, very disappointing! (although quite convincing to the passing PH'ers eyes!)

Ohh I love that so much. Every real petrolhead should. Its NOTHING to do with status or wallet or bo1lox & posturing + posing + internet bravado and 'its 0.01% better than something else' things.

I helped a mate convert a TR7 into a TR8 and when he fired it up the first time with 4 double down draught Webber carburettors and a virtually straight through exhaust - well it was a seminal moment that made all the hairs on my arms and legs stand on end. Utter delight. Time, skill, learning, dirty hands...and I'm posting elsewhere about my Aston software going 'beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep' every time I put the f key in!

I saw yesterday, what looked like an Ariel Nomad, being followed by a Catheram, heading from Wick towards Llandow around lunchtime.
