Ogmore-by-Sea to Pencoed avoiding Ewenny and A48 (almost)

Possibly a PITA every day, but more interesting than taking the motorway. At 7 in the morning I guarantee you'll do it quicker than the 33 minutes google thinks.

I'd say you would be lucky to get 33 mins sticking to the limits (or not....). Last time I used some of that road for fun my suspension got a good work out and several fillings needed replacing. The section from Wick to Llantwit. And Pentre Meyrick can be interesting.

Worth a punt though if the Phil wants to give it a blast. It used to be interesting but gave up on the state of the road. What is it like now?

That's my regular fun route. Llantwit through Wick, turn left a St-Brides heading to Southerndown, through Ogmore, then turn right at Ewenny, through the valley by the quarry and back home via Wick.

The roads through Ogmore and the quarry in St Brides are great (if empty).

Llantwit to the A48 is also great as you say. Especially the section between Llandow circuit and Llantwit.

Thanks all, I'm open to all suggestions.

The roads around there are certainly fun. I once wrote off my car attempting a scandanavian flick on the road to Ogmore. In hindsight it wasn't the best place to attempt that manoeuvre for the first time!

St Brides through Ogmore etc. all low limits now. That section out of Wick heading east still a bone shaker? OK in the barge but the toy lets me know about it.
