Friends parents have recently bought a house in Monmouth, myself and about 5 others are popping over in a couple of weeks for the weekend to visit.

Looking for some good driving roads in the area, also any recommendations for Karting tracks.

Cheers!

Monmouth to gloucester through the forest of dean area is ok but watch out for deer!

You'll really only see deer from dusk to dawn... potentially more likely to see boar during the day, and in certain parts of the Forest(Bream/Parkend)sheep.

The biggest issue at the moment is the sheer volume of tourists, combined with the 40mph bunch... they form formidable lines of traffic...

Monmouth down to Chepstow along the river is a nice run with some parts that do allow for overtaking...

It also doesn't take long to get out to the Brecons from Monmouth either and that's worth considering

I don't know road numbers sorry but I can't point toward a road or two.
Follow the road out from Overmonnow going West.
You can either head toward Abergavenny or further north towards Hereford.
Depending upon time I'd opt for toward Hereford once you reach the A465.
Just short of the Hereford 40mph signs go left to go to Hay On Wye via Clehonger, Madley and Breintwardine.
Carry on toward Brecon but in Bronllys grab a bite at The Honey Cafe.
Head over Pengenffordd from Talgarth - Nantyffin and top Crickhowell and Abergavenny. and then back to Monmouth.
The Wye Valley - Chepstow to Monmouth is beautiful.
The old Hereford Rd out of Monmouth past the Girls School is also good.
