Does anyone have any experience with VW T5 camper conversion companies around South Wales? There seems to be lots of bad stuff on internet about the ones in Llanelli, but other than that not much else?

Platinum conversions in Gorseinon seem to have a good reputation.

Cannon Campers up in Pengam. Platinum OK too. New Wave Pontyclun. Poppit campers Cardigan. There a hell of a lot out there, so make sure you do some good research.

Not a helpful answer, but are you keeping it long term? Conversions depreciate a lot. Factory-built Californias hold their value extremely well. A clever California purchase might cost you less than a grand or two a year in depreciation. I kept one for 2 years and 15k miles and sold it for £250 less than I paid. Even if you got a loan for initial cost, it's only costing you the interest, and you get all the VW factory gadgets, and a much nicer fit and finish.

If you plan to keep it forever, different story, conversions make sense.

Just some food for thought.

This guy is on the same industrial estate as my company in abercynon. He's really busy but does a great job on his conversions.

Bought a 2013 T5 T30 panel van with the 140bhp 6 speed gearbox which is now booked in with Pure VW to do the conversion. Can't wait it is going to be epic.

Got our T5 Van converted by Pure VW Campers in Newport. Wow what a job they did, we went a bit overboard on the spec but have an amazing campervan now. Steven's workmanship is amazing, his workshop is more tidy than my house. We wanted lots of extras and they managed to find a solution for everything. Planning lots of trips out with this beauty (here a pic of a quick trip up Brecon)

Looks great.
We hired a T5 for a trip to Scotland in April to attend a wedding.
Best thing we've ever done but the hard part is yearning for something we can't currently afford.

Hope you have a brilliant time with her. Get in the waving spirit. We had a cheery unsolicited wave in Dingwall which was lovely ( small things wink)

This I don't understand as they are so common either as a campervan or van. There used to be a special VW wave when I had my 60's Beetle or being in my mates 70's VW Camper, but a modern VW it seems a bit odd.
