I don't mean the smoke and mirrors from the backers, but actual on the ground observations of anything actually happening at the locations?

Such as the superhangers being converted at St Athan and TVR doing more than just putting their names on the front of the local rugby clubs shirts.

Anyone spotted any real work going on? local contracts being tendered etc?

I can't see the Circuit of Wales happening, not with all thats gone on so far.

Aston Martin exchanged contracts on the first site at St Athan about ten days ago and have appointed TRJ Contracting. Some reports of TRJ already starting work on phase 1.

I've pledged to dance naked around the clock tower in Tredegar if Circuit of Wales ever happens. Not sure how I can raise that on the basis that TVR will never happen, either!

Feeling within local council offices is that it's not going to happen. A lot of frustration with the Welsh Government but at the same time no one blames them for the poor offer that was put infront of them.

Shane. Perhaps a chance we'll see some investment in Llandow, even if it'll never be a major events circuit.

Just had a google and TVR have had an offer accepted on a factory unit in the Ebbw Vale area, so shows some form of intent it would seem.

Pembrey is a great circuit, but it really needs some pit garages. It can be a miserable place when it's cold and wet!

Can't see that happening anytime soon. This is the primary reason they lost British F3 and BTCC championships years ago.

Pembrey have a press announcement about things happening at the circuit in Mid January. Looks like some alterations are being made to the track.

According to their Facebook page this will take place on Wednesday 11th January. I was there earlier this week and they have constructed some additional track infield to the right of Debeni. Difficult to tell exactly what it is going to be though.

I'd love to know who is making money from this farce and how they're doing it. I'm in the wrong job!

Time will tell but I remain unconvinced that this will ever go ahead. Would love to be proved wrong though.

No mention of support from the Welsh government, so hopefully they have seen sense. I am another who can't see this getting off the ground. Would love to be wrong though.

Well I have to say, the extreme sports angle was a bit of a surprise, but if pigs fly and this does go forward (I for one support our flying pork overlords), the extreme sports link could be a stroke of genius.

Mountain biking is huge at the moment, with Bike Park Wales seemingly doing very well. The track would be well positioned near the Beacons to take advantage of people already biking around there, it's still not that far from Cardiff and only another 10 minutes further than Bike Park Wales. Links to the M5 aren't bad either, especially once they've completed the A465 works around Abergavenny.

I still think the whole thing sounds like a pipe dream, but I'd still love the idea of having a world class circuit just half an hour away.

Have you used the M4 in the rush hour / when there's an event on at the Millennium Stadium?

If we had a major motorsport event at a proposed Circuit of Wales, you'd be queuing from the Severn Tolls through to the Brynglas Tunnels.

I've travelled from Bradley Stoke (North Bristol) to Pontypridd nearly every week day for the past 3 months (and the same last year for a few months). Traffic is horrendous every evening, and the slightest accident causes queuing from the bridge to the tunnels - it's probably a once a week event. Heck, the Coca Cola truck turning up at Coryton Asda a year ago caused the worst traffic I've seen on the M4.

It would be no worse than that in all fairness.

Many people would be encouraged to use other routes in (such as the M50), which isn't possible for a Cardiff event.
