Unmarked Police Cars, what ones you know?
Discussion
All very well posting up number plates and makes and models but who can read a plate on a car behind you on the motorway in the dark? I have a solution for you- if there is traffic do 70mph if there isn't traffic then go as you see fit. I'm always cautious of anything that comes behind me on the motorway.

Was broken down near the magic roundabout in Cardiff this evening in a bus, saw a dark coloured Audi A6, GL10KYE (or might have been GL09KYE?) pulling over kerb crawlers. One was right infront of me, a guy in an old astra doing a u-turn to pick a girl up - the look on his face was most amusing when the blues and twos came on

Here in Gloucestershire mobile plod use at least one anonymous and dull as ditchwater grey 3-Series. Saw it pull over someone on the local bypass a while back and I too was pulled over by it in the small hours when collecting my lady from her office party. Used her MG ZS and when said grey unmarked 3-series followed us in the small hours, not sure if it was mobile plod as very dark, but it followed my every move I decided it was a cop car. I used the handling of the ZS to pout quite a few extra yards between us ion the fiddly bits and large roundabouts. This went on for about three miles always within legal limits until less that a mile from home, on went the flashing blue lights. Cue much eye rolling by said better half alongside.
They were simply interested in seeing if near tea-total me had been drinking. My good lady had but probably not enough to be a driving problem but best to be sure. They asked me my Christian name as they had checked the Insurance which was in my wife's name for this car with me as the only named driver. They were friendly and polite throughout and bid us safe journey.
I am in favour of this policy but there are all too few such Police Cars about the place now. So called "Speed Cameras" do NOTHING to address the problem of bad and dangerous driving which I see all too frequently on UK roads now. That really needs to be addressed properly and focus moved away from revenue generation and box ticking. I live in hope those we entrust to our well being realise the error of their ways and shape up. They are paid well enough to do so but, do they deliver? The sooner the better.

seen this one on the pontypool to usk road yesterday....
dark grey BMW 3 estate CE63 LXR, has 4 lights on the grille, wasnt lit up but were easily seen as it was travelling towards me. didnt get time to look if it was police or not.
also the Black BMW X5 around gwent and SW area i believe is CN62 BCZ. theres also a white X5 on a CN62 plate in mainly SW area aswell, but think it parts of driver training, not 100% though.
the A6 GL10 KYE and black A4 **62 VFW i think has the 1st 2 letters VK possibly. when this is lit up, you wont miss it
