Sorry I'm late with the pictures - not my normal service I know but I had a busy weekend following the little get together wink

Fueled up, Loaded up for something else..... and the field all to myself - I was early but........

Space - the final frontier - I had it all.

And then I had friends

Some had to leave by bye V8 with a lovely noise

But they left a space - hello V8 with another nice noise

It may or may not be a car I've wanted to see for rather a while

BMW make some really great diseasals these days

Darren not in cleaned and polished shocker

BC in dirty merc - was definately on for a prize (if I hadn't ruled myself out)

Luckliy Darren came with a banner that could hide a lot of dirt

This car needs a bit of an introduction - same owner since 87 - once a Monza fan

3.7 Litres and 300 bhp - surprises people as only an old Opel can.

Once a Monza fan then only a ferrari 550 comes close

But it has such a nice arse

V8 200 bhp and handles like a drunk pig on a skateboard (who am I kidding - it's a variation on the diesel S3 joke and was never gonna work) so lets just say home built to a std that I could never achieve.

Biffed up the back last week by some fool fiddling with the stereo and owner Sandy wasn't happy

God job the bumpers are flexible

Always had a soft spot for proper old muscle

Daily driver - had a nice patina

So tempted to do "just a good old boy never meaning no harm........." Actually it's a daily that in resto in progress and everything that needs to be done must not take it off the road - that's a tough way to progress.

See what I mean

Old english white MGB

Identify the engine - I failed........

New kid on the block

Need a little guidance in the ways of PH - be nice people......

So that's it from me wink

Thanks to those that attended - Next year maybe from little acorns and all that.......

Oh and with a boot full of camping gear 150 miles and 3 hrs 30 mins later (sorry Darren I was trying honest) later I was at Prescott to sleep in a tent and then help to run the hill climb event (held in the middle of a really good car show)

Yes I did take it up hill (more than once - first run I forgot to disable the nanny state - second run I remembered and it was much better)

Err Proof - hoping Mrs BC never logs into PH and reads this biglaugh

175 miles home (my tom tom is a fruitcake) and I still had fuel left in the tank - I like her SLK biglaugh

BC, it was an honest mistake................anyone could have made it..............give me a break, I'd lost two cylinders and a blower. I wasn't thinking clearly, bloody plastic covers, these engines all look the same.....

In the immortal words of Homer J Simpson...........DOH!

Still, no drama, I've made worse mistakes ;-)

I've just realised I never replied to this thread. Better late than never, I suppose!

Many thanks must go to BC for organising a lovely day out. I had great time with everyone. An excellent social event, with the added bonus of a great bunch of cars.
Hopefully this event can be repeated next year with even more wonderful cars and people thumbup

Finally, I've just got round to uploading my photos from the day.
You can find them HERE

Many thanks again, BC!

Darren
