Charity Passenger rides at Snetterton
Discussion
A great event again, even better than last year's successful day, well done Kev and team.
My starter motor died late morning, but that didn't stop us push-starting it each time another passenger came along. In fact, the excellent variety of cars in all classes meant that when some cars were taking time out (cooling down, tinkering, chatting with the spectators, etc), there were plenty of other cars for passengers to choose from.
As I started one of my sessions, the pitlane exit marshal demanded that I do a burnout... I duly complied, much to the fear/delight of my passenger.
I'll definitely be there again next year, the atmosphere and sense of occasion is simply brilliant, both as driver and spectator.

We did run a raffle which saw a £1 ticket give someone the chance to get a ride in any of the cars. We did two draws but no one came back to claim them...
I did wonder who had won, I bought tickets first thing but wasn't informed when/where it was going to be drawn & the paddock tannoy isn't great so if it was announced over that not surprised no one claimed itA big 'sign on here' sign on top of the STR truck wouldn't go amiss either, we had people arriving at the garages asking where to go

There were signs were the tickets were being sold saying draws were 11.30 and 3.30pm and we had a sign up in the awning displaying winning number. Other than the tannoy, can't think of another way of letting everyone know? Phones don't work well there as was clearly demonstrated by the network failing and scrwing up the card readers We were supposed to have a mahooosive sign on the side of the race trailer but unfortunately (if anyone is on our facebook will know) we were let down by a sign compnay 4 days prior to the event so had to get what we could from begging others to help. This will not happen next year..LOL

Jacobyte, was that your yellow Delta? Was one of my favourite cars of the day if it was.
No, I left my integrale at home. That one was owned by the same chap that had the Murcielago Roadster. I was in the Shelby Daytona Cobra (on very old road tyres, so fast on the straights and slowly sideways in the tight bits).

The prices do feel a bit high, but the queues proved that KevF got it right.
I agree. Although i was at the cheaper end of the list, I did at least 20 paid rides during the day and could have done more if i hadn't run out of fuel, brakes and developed an annoying misfire. My only complaint is that i very nearly got a Kamikaze Capri racer in my driver's door as he absolutely had to get through the hairpin ahead of me. He then Brake tested me going into Palmer.

LOL....many thanks buddy....was going to be on my to do list Wednesday so saves me a job..;)Just a thought re pricing...
Why not offer a discount if rides are bought in advance online?
Promote the website early and offer a sliding scale of fees as you get closer to the event...
Sort of £20 for the first couple of goes in a top band car, raising to £40 then £60 then £80 on the day...
Could be run by Eventbrite easily with online checkin of vouchers etc... Free to set up as well.
Just a thought.
Brilliant day, as I said before.

A big thank you to everyone who arranged, marshalled, drove and did the myriad of jobs required to make yesterday a great event.
Because of my limited budget i went in group C... Yes the queue was long (an hour and a half) But no matter, there was plenty of sights and sounds and people to chat to.
My mate had a bit more money so he went in Group B. He was a bit smug with the smaller queue, the Git!
My big regret was not going in the Mercury Cougar this year, one year on and i am still in love with it...
Oh and a BIG thank you to whoever it was who was driving the course car and very nearly lost it right at the end of the day at Murray's! I was just putting my gear on to go home and i was still chuckling as i rode out of the circuit.

[quote=UnluckyTimmeh]Congrats to KevF and everyone else involved.
The Elise survived but did require a mid afternoon modification. We really enjoyed it and no one was sick in the car, so bonus!
Also one last well done to young Mr Greentree who did a fantastic job of 360-ing his 640. Top work!!
Errrrrr.......Hoped nobody saw that!
Kevin and friends
Thanks for organising such a splendid day for all car lovers everywhere. To be able to allow so many good nature'd petrolheads to come together in one place and enjoy their love of cars......and raise so much money for charity is something very rare and special.
For us exotic cars owners it did sometimes get a little nerve racking (and irritating) having testosterone driven racing drivers with something to prove vying for your blood - maybe next year a separate class maybe!
But all that said.....
WELL DONE!
