Phil ya little Pixie you added more after I answered your original email....LOL

As you are volunteering, it is up to you how much time you wish to designate for passenger laps. You can do the morning stint, afternoon stint or all day with a few breaks if you wish.
As long as we don't get people turn up do three laps around the track and bugger off home leaving a long queue of crying orphans who were waiting for their dream trip in your classic...

With regard to fuel, there is a petrol pump onsite but last time I looked the charge was £1.65 per litre.
There are a couple of petrol stations near to Snetterton that will work out cheaper though. There are two BP(?) stations either side of the dual carriageway London side of the circuit, a couple in Thetford itself, or a Shell at Attleborough on the way into Norwich.

Tim, I would imagine trackday rules would apply....not sure about mixing bikes and cars and, given my liking for all things two wheeled, I have thought about a similar event but for bikes...;)

However, a trade stand would be great.....we are charging £500 per dealership/ marque. This gives them trade stand allocation plus the opportunity to have 2 demo cars on the 100 track to offer 'passenger' rides to prospective customers, alternating with the classics.

The Elise would be great and probably the only Lotus there..;)

I will do. I'll have a word with the boss tomorrow I know they don't allow cars and bikes to mix. But i was thinking a 10/15 minute almost parade of the bikes. Just an idea.

I did suggest a sunday service for the bikes to Garlick but i never heard back from the last email, but maybe we can combine a whole load of things for another time?

Kev, although as you know all of my guys cars are straight liners and don't do corners, so wont be any good for the experience you're trying to provide (unless you want to set aside a 1/4 mile of tarmac), I do have a large pool of members, all of whom are experienced racers that are willing to roll their sleeves up and help out on the day, PM me what you need and I'll line the guys up for you.

Without a screen, heater or doors my Locost is very drafty for passengers towards the end of November but it's got a passenger seat and I can be available with it if required. Won't do much over 100mph without a slipstream (110 with) and if raining there might not be as much demand. It's in the 750MC series and I've got a National B.

Alternatively if you just need another pair of hands to help out.

I know I've asked but what's the situation on liablity insurance on track and in the paddock? Sounds dull but the track can be a dangerous place, racing cars are typically uninsured and there was the case of the bloke in the Caterham...

I'm told was an off at one BHF event but fortunately nobody was hurt.

Insurance was the biggest problem with the old events. However, since then, there has been an massive increase in Track days so insurance companies are getting the idea of who uses them and what they drive like as well as potential level of claims.

We are working with two large companies to ensure that owners of the cars will be able to offer their services without fear of claim. However, we need to be sure that this doesnt come across as a green light for being as heavy footed and brain out as possible.

My aim is, as long as the road legal cars have full MOT, insurance and road tax then our policy will cover them and any passengers.

I am being told it can be done, just we need to ensure all the 'T's' are crossed and the 'i's' are dotted...;)

I will update as soon as I get clarification....

Thanks for that. My car isn't road legal so I guess your insurers will require you have some sort of scruitineering scheme before letting the public ride in it?

Yeap, all race cars will go through scrutineering prior to the event start and all race licence owners will be briefed and wristbanded prior to being able to go onto circuit. Fast road cars will go through visual inspection and drivers briefed also).

We have a guy called Mike Chadwick running the pitlane. He is a veteran of the old British Heart Foundation days so knows how these things run and when and where to place cars, drivers and the public.

As we are running an event with the public and we want to make it an annual event, safety is paramount but so is enjoyment for all. Its a balance but I feel we have the right people involved to allow both to happen.

A bit more information for you..

Our insurers will need drivers name, vehicle type, driver experience.

The day will start from 7.30am where race drivers will be briefed and the race cars will go through scrutineering. Drivers will get a wristband when they have been briefed and the cars put into relevant groups.

Fast road car owners/drivers will arrive from 8am. They will need to be briefed too and given a wristband. Road cars will undergo a visual check for safety.

The day will run until 4pm with an hour for lunch (MSV have specified this as marshals will need a break).
