RAF Marham Trackday 18/19 August 2012
Discussion
No, about the Monza. I'll go on 'the dark side' and read about it there.
I think I will be at Marham after all, but will probably just do one day as I'm hoping to do a round of the British Autocross Championship the following weekend. That's on the loose, so the Nova will be in really really oversteery setup this time. Yee-ha...
When it gets closer to the Marham date we'll have to set up the who's going table again.

What day do you think you’ll be doing? I doubt many RR people will be going due to the clash with their big show.ABS attendance will be quite low as well looking at the thread response so far

I think I will probably do Saturday too. Then I can do something else on Sunday - whereas if I go on Sunday, Saturday will only be spent prepping for it anyway! If you see what I mean...
Impeccable logic, makes sense to me!Now registered and paid-up for Saturday, may have another passenger or two but I hope I can add them nearer the time.
Goddamnit, I went and got tickets for the gathering and then, out of the whole of August or in fact just leaving it 'til the September date they choose THAT weekend!
I really want to do RRG as i haven't been for a year or two but a few friends missed the boat for camping tickets Now, would I rather take the Mini up the hill or round the circuit? Decisions decisions...

^ was exactly my problem as well - I thought about Marham on Sat and RRG on Sun but that's just asking for troubleI really want to do RRG as i haven't been for a year or two but a few friends missed the boat for camping tickets Now, would I rather take the Mini up the hill or round the circuit? Contemplating doing the Saturday, but I know (in person) literally no-one from PH, and none of my mates are interested / driving anything suitable / not too tight to drive 30 miles / not skint
Unsure what to bring though - my Octavia VRS (1.8t) or the wife's Clio 172. Clio is away for belts and dephaser next month, so will be fully fit, whereas the VRS is technically needed as the 'family' car for the kids, so I will be in much more trouble if I break it.

From my experience I have found Marham to be very novice/no-mates friendly. If you’re there on your own, and provided you’re not driving like a complete twerp, I’m sure you’ll find some willing passengers to keep you company. Or just chat with other like-minded folk in the pits.Unsure what to bring though - my Octavia VRS (1.8t) or the wife's Clio 172. Sounds like the Clio is your only choice!

Spot on. Last time I went I did so alone and there was no shortage of people to chat to, despite not knowing anyone at all. All in all a very relaxed and friendly day out.I found this too
When I went to my first Marham day I didn't know anyone but after the driver's brief I met and made friends with one of the finest people I know and was easily made at home by the others
Go for it, you will not regret it
I can't make August, my Midge will be in pieces being slightly upgraded
I hope to be at the next one, it is high as can be on my calendar
