A lot of that really made me chuckle thanks for that Especially the comments about the red nova - no matter how many times I've said it people still don't get that if you try and follow it you will end up crying (I've been in it as a passenger and what Rob does with it is sureal)
I too had the pleasure of a ride round with Rob.....and "decidedly interesting" understates by a factor of ten the way he just threw it into corners and then dealt with the consequences. I think suggesting that he was taking particular lines is rather optimistic - he just hurled the car at the scenery and somehow managed to keep the tyres on the rims and the car the right way up. I real tour de force, especially after riding with his brother Stuart, a picture of calm and smoothness in his Holden. Stuart also showed me that you can drive my TVR Chimaera around the track without six tyre squeals a lap....Really looking forward to the video, please, Rob, and next year - how about a whole week, Rob? I for one will be there every day!
Quick question and please accept my apologies if the answer is obvious or already mentioned earlier in this thread.
I was chatting with an Elise owning colleague at work yesterday and we got onto the subject of trackdays, her hubby is a RAF pilot, previously Harriers at Wittering, now at Northolt but will shortly be transferring to one of the remaining Tornado squadrons at Marham. I said I'd try and find who he could speak to about this when he starts on base - so question is who's the contact base side if he wanted to have a friendly chat about coming along from a staff member point of view?

It's Rob or George I think. Rtv just above your post is the main man. And i think b'stard child is tother. But i get confused! There is a separate website www.marhamtrackday.co.Uk with more info too. Next one is in April, subject to the Tornados not needing the airstrip. It was fantastic fun, good spirit, and all the RAF guys and gals gave up their time for free to make it work.
Hope we will see you there in your 350 4.3. Just check the noise levels first.....but with only cones to hit it's a real chance to give it some beans in safety. I span mine four times with no damage.

Zippee, we're always looking for RAF personnel to help us stage these events! My contact details are quoted in the post below by quietlybonkers.I was chatting with an Elise owning colleague at work yesterday and we got onto the subject of trackdays, her hubby is a RAF pilot, previously Harriers at Wittering, now at Northolt but will shortly be transferring to one of the remaining Tornado squadrons at Marham. Rather funny that you should mention this - I'm currently in the USA where I have managed to pick up a 6-litre lump to rebuild for the Holden ( amongst other engines ). Just got to get them home now ;-)Really looking forward to the video, please, Rob, and next year - how about a whole week, Rob? I for one will be there every day!

Let me helpI'm definately not Rob (rtv) or George (GeorgeyDee)
A zillion years ago a PH'r called Grandad Gaz used to co-ordinate the PH attendance at RAF marham Track days and a damn fine job he did too, I used to co-ordinate the attendance of 2 other forums and when Grandad Gaz needed a break (life, house ectension etc) I sort of picked it up as well as the two I already co-ordinated and I carried on for a fair while mainly starting the threads and collection the payments and attendee details befopre submission to Marham sometimes before the deadline (yeah right!!)
Then RAF marham got a website based booking system and I was redundant
However I still go to the events (OK I've missed just one since it started so my 100% perfect attendance has a tiny blot) and I help out where I can on here and it seems I still start the threads (well somebody has too )
So bottom line is I have very little to do with the events apart from starting a thread on 3 different forums and chipping in with advice/answering questions where I think I know the answer
I've read that back twice and it still can be interpreted several differnt ways - most on here know how I would like it to be interpretted so I'll leave that to trust

PH involvement started with a chance encounter I had at a Shell garage with a Ferrari driver just before the first track day in 2005. I thought RAF's Mark Williams was responsible for organising that?

At this moment the much awaited RAF Marham video is being produced by the legendary Steven Spielberg(aka Soulfirer from UKSaabs)...however, the Saab crowd did Bedford on the saturday before driving up for the sunday event.....
this is the new blockbuster post....

I begin now to understand why I kept being overtaken by Saabs......I had assumed they were standard cars, 250 bhp. Nice video, eagerly awaiting the blockbuster sequel, Nightmare on Mainrunwaythis is the new blockbuster post....

It was funny at Bedford cos 3 of our cars look identical and when we were all out on track at different intervals....a porsche driver couldn't fathom out why he was being lapped rather rapidly......:-)rtv said:

Muchly gracias.
Will start Nightmare on Mainrunway vid
I appear to have randomly bought another MX5. Needs a few bits, but it is solid and it was very very cheap, bought from a fellow Marham trackdayer.
Having a car in the UK does means that I will be able to join again (not been for two years) and certainly looking forward to having another go, especially if the reverse track is implemented again.
Anyway, I live in Düsseldorf these days, and have of course met petrol head people since being out here, albeit over 't boarder in the Netherdutchland.
Two guys are interested in joining me next time, but they both hold Dutch passports. Will this pose a problem being allowed on base?
