5th Annual Fish and Chip Run!!!! - 14th April

Hi All

It's that time of year again. Another chance to drive to the coastal town of Aldeburgh to sample their lovely fish'n'chips and some great hooning roads along the way.

The date of the run is Sunday the 14th of April (sorry Sam)

Anyone is welcome whether you drive La Ferrari or Das Volkswagen.

Run Details

There are two starting points you can choose from, Cambridge or Thetford. Both groups will drive cross country to Stowmarket and then onwards to Aldeburgh.


Start point (A) Thetford - Sainsbury Car park
Departure time - 9am
Led by Darren (iluvmercs)

We'll then drive to Stowmarket to meet everyone else

We'll then all drive to Aldeburgh and hopefully get there by 12:00 (ish)

We'll park at the North end of town in the Thrope Road Car park (pay and display, space for 240 cars £2.00 for 4 hours, £3 for all day)

Once there you are you are free to do whatever you like There are two Fish'n'Chip shops in Aldeburgh both owned by the same people. One is at the South end of town, the other is on the High Street (this one has a restaurant as well). All the shops are open on a Sunday too. The chip shops are rather popular and do have quite a queue sometimes http://www.chipshopqueue.co.uk/


****I am however going to need a few volunteers****

The volunteers are needed to lead small groups on the run from Stowmarket to Aldeburgh. The route is really easy to follow and full paper and TomTom maps will be provided. I'm going to lead one group and Darren another but depending on how many cars sign up we may need 2-3 more leaders. Put your name down and/or PM me.



There will also be the PHEA Annual Awards!!!

I'm a maybe for the Stowmarket meeting point however this is dependant on work so I'm a maybe for now.

Having moved to stowmarket area from Newmarket I'm really gutted that I'm going to miss the normal cambs to stow section.

I might see if I can join the cambs/stow run part way through........like west stow or similar. Can just see it now, sitting in lay by for a whoosh of noise to come blasting past, then tag on the back.

Myself and scranny are driving to Cambridge from stow to do the Cambridge leg back to stow, feel free to join us.
