PHEA Run: Three Counties Breakfast Run - Sunday 28th July
Discussion
So obviously the route was a closely guarded secret until the actual day arrived - can't be too careful - loose lips cost licences and all that
Mixture of roads
Keeping it real in the zones
who needs tunnels when you have stone walls
Country
A Catherderal - and the sun took it's hat off
Short Break - kwik kwap
A cathederal of sound when we left
After the fuel stop - drive by
See what I mean about the Patina - shot blasted finish lighter than paint?
A few more
And then some more nice roads, A breakdown for the MK Indy - Battery doing a good impression of a pressure cooker filled with popping candy - we got the car parked and secure and the two occupants ferried by Marc to the breakfast location only for the RAC to revise their arrival time from 1 hour to 10 mins - gutted for you guys but here's what you missed
A close up
It was really scrummy

Well what a fantastic morning!
Thank you to everyone for turning out for the first ever Three Counties Breakfast Run
This fantastic turn out, despite the almost ridiculous start time
We couldn't have asked for better weather! As per the idea, the roads were largely empty, which made
enjoyable roads even better! Then of course I look in my mirror to see an excellent array of lovely machinery following made the early start worth while! And then there are the people within. A good few newbies joined us as well as seasoned veterans - should anyone want to be added to the PHEA Mailing List, then please PM me.
A truly great day!
A big Thank You must go to both Ian (SLK) and Paul (Porsche Turbo) for their help with a bit of route planning and the pub organisation.
Sorry to hear we had a breakdown. Hopefully it will be an easy fix
As for my EPC warning light....Upon leaving the pub, this was joined by the engine management light. A quick query on PH has revealed it could be the CAT or a sensor. Roll on tomorrow to get this sorted.
As ever, feedback is always welcome, whether positive or negative. It just helps us improve members' experiences for next time
Ian, why do you point out I was early? Sounds like you're implying I'm occasionally late?!
Great photos, too!
Here's another shock....record time for my photo upload!
My photos can be FOUND HERE
However I have to post this one with SlartyBartfast's young co-pilot's "Comment of the day".
"Is that man having a wee?"
Next up, Helmingham Hall - PH Thread HERE

Sorry to have missed it, thought there would be too much overnight rain to set the alarm.
Still got up at 0100 to look out the window, went back to sleep and woke up at 0500!
Oh well, see you there at Helmingham Hall.
Oh ye of little faith......you won't make that mistake again!! It was a great start to the dayStill got up at 0100 to look out the window, went back to sleep and woke up at 0500!

Ha! Yes it's for weight saving purposes! I'm doing similar with the lacquer on the the bonnet and roof to keep weight down low .(Respray will be over winter when I won't miss not having the car on the road.)
Fantastic run this morning, thanks to everyone for making it such a good morning run. Perfect traffic conditions for this type of meet. It was amusing to see the looks on peoples faces to see 20 odd performance cars rumbling past their sleepy eyes at silly o'clock on a sunday morning.
Although I didn't decide to attend untill the very last minute it was worth being up all night for, as I finished work at 5am and came straight too the meeting point. I was soon awoken by the dawn chorus of some fantastic vehicles .
See you all at future events, and I must remember to bring some marshmallows to toast next time...
Dominic
Really great way to start the day. Even though I wasn't feeling A1 (dodgy BBQ the day before) the thought of blatting through the countryside with a bunch of nutters forced me out of bed.
The route was perfect for that time in the morning, nice fast road with little traffic and the general standard of driving I saw was good (you can all give yourselves a pat on the back )
Gutted that Ash's battery exploded (hopefully he'll post a picture of it as I have never seen one like that before!) as the breakfast was lovely
Many thanks to Darren, Ian and Paul for pulling it together.
I better get my finger out now and set a date for the Late Summer Run!!
Oh and the pink badge is a warning to other drivers, It means "warning this car is driven by a penis! "

What a great morning it was. Some interesting cars and even more interesting people. And a great breakfast as well!!
I hope the 2 guys in the MK have got home and can fix the battery problems. Incredible sound, incredible acceleration. Sat on my tail until the battery gave out, while I was hanging to the Lotus Evora in front of me!!
Tremendous roads and very little traffic. It was well worth staggering out of bed at 10 to 4 in the morning. One or two cars must have wondered what had hit them as 12 howling cars went by!
Thanks to the organisers. I know there is more to organising an event than appears on the surface.
Elliot and I and the F430 will definitely be coming to another event like this.
