Hi all,

I am a professional cinematographer by trade, but have recently got back into taking still photos - re-discovering the joy of medium format.

I might like to put together a little book or similar with some nice pics of cars and I wondered if anyone in the area (pref Suffolk/Essex but anywhere in East Anglia) would be willing to donate themselves, their car and a couple of hours in exchange for some great pics of their cars?

I don't intend to make any money out of this, I make movies for money, this is more of a passion thing.

Anything interesting or PH-worthy would be of interest, I am particularly keen on import, American, Lotus Esprit, Ferraris, Porsches, oh sod it - nice cars!

Thanks all
James

Steve,

Would be more than happy to as I have you to thank for helping me enjoy car cleaning again!

Give me a PM and I'll get in touch when my camera has cleared customs, expecting it in the next week direct from Japan.

Going to have to order some more film in I think!

Hi James,

Ahhh, a delay of a couple of weeks could mean me having the R5GTT back on
the road too, though the bodywork won't be as tidy as I'd like. That comes
after it gets sorned later this year.

Have you got a location in mind, or is that a secret? smile

Regards,
Steve

Hi James,

I could potentially help with this, depending on days and locations etc. (Don't want to make any promises I can't keep)

I'm also based in Lowestoft.

My car is a 2009 Cayman S, as shown below:

Cheers,
Paul.

Lads I'm interested in all the cars posted here. As for photo venues, I was hoping people would know places roughly nearby to them which make good photo ops.

I tend to find slightly unusual venues work really well - there are a lot of delapidated old barns around mine which make a nice contrast to a lot of cars.

Loving the 'stang there, pretty fine background on that one!

Gaz - all are welcome.

I won't be doing one massive photoshoot on one day, I will be doing this as an ongoing thing - to suit weather, time and people.

No point trying to organise one massive event, it'd be silly.

At the very most I'd only do one or two cars on any given day, if nothing else I would like to at least pick the owner's brains for a little bit about their purchases smile

the delapidated bomb proof hangers and associated facilities at RAF woodbridge and bentwaters work well. let me speak to someone for access. it's part operational, but is possible, been done before by a friend..

How about a shot of a r33 skyline in the setting sun of an eveing down a country lane throwing some flames as it dissappears into the sunset? Not still shots I know but been wanting to do something like this for a long time. (Not that I'm after a specific shot to have as memorabilia of my car wink )

Or a skyline generations with chris, digger and some one with a r34?

As for cars going down country lanes, that sounds more like a movie thing to me... which I can arrange.

The camera I have on order is sadly not particularly suited to moving shots, but we will see what happens.

I like the sound of the Skyline trio.

Previous pictures I have done to follow.

Hopefully this gives an idea of the breadth of topic.

Some of these pics are quite old, and some quite different to what I'm looking to do presently, but hopefully proof I'm not a numpty with a camera smile

Hi James, I have the Lotus Esprit GT3 that I think you have seen around the Norton / Woolpit area. I am happy to assist and can usually do any time or day if that helps.

I was hoping you'd volunteer smile Great car that, and I happen to know a few venues around woolpit that might suit. The Cayman pictures above were taken at woolpit business park, I reckon a fading light shot might suit the 'sprit well.
