So my shed (2001 Octavia) has had a slight oil leak for ages, dripping from the sump nut, tried to tighten it but to no avail. Today I bought a new nut, fitted it but went straight in rather than screw tight, put old nut back in will only do up finger tight and then just rotates. Now leaking even more...mmm its my only car and I live on my own...can a sump be rethreaded.. if so any one in Norwich able to help ASAP.. Thanks... Phil.

Can only suggest that most garages should be able to 'Helicoil' the sump. Shouldn't take long or cost much. Good luck.

I had exactly the same problem on my Octavia estate a few years ago. When I enquired about the price of a new sump at Chequered Flag in Attleborough they said that it was a common problem at they could put a helicoil in for about £20. Had it done and it lasted fine and was OK still when I got rid of the car.
