Got myself a track car which has been half built and needs a little bit of TLC here and there. Lot of places out and about, although a PH search turns up old threads and these businesses seem to be changing all the times.

Any recommendations? Around the suffolk/essex border would be nice although I'm prepared to travel for someone worthwhile. Don't need masses done but I'm not prepping an FIA spec car so budget is limited!

There's a chap in Haverhill thats done work to my sons MX5. Also his wife's MX5.

Another in Haverhill that's a bit more up market. Race transporter trucks parked in the yard, that sort of thing.

I suspect depth of your pockets comes into play.

If you have an MX5 have a look at Michael Cleverley, based in Stradbroke, Suffolk (IP21 5JL):

We drive an hour from Norwich to use him - our last geometry set up from him is epic.

I can't recommend him enough - we're saving for one of his turbo conversions as I write this.

Definitely not an MX5!

It's an E36 BMW, if that makes any difference...

I use David ellesley at race car consultants, Elmsett, near Hadleigh, ipswich. Google is your friend. He is an ex formula ford champion, currently doing Elise cup, and looks after a number of privateers, including some radical maintenance and geometry work for me as my storage unit is on the same complex. He is cheap, knows what he is doing, has a fully equipped workshop with an employee, is easy to deal with, and I have no complaints. I don't know if he knows good setup for an mx5, but interms of getting it built to your spec you won't go far wrong, and you can always get someone else to give you geometry setup.

Chris.

Speed Style Auto Centre at Ashbocking Green could be worth a shout. Friend of mine from a couple of years back owns and runs it, and his own drift/track cars, so could be worth a go?

Think I know the company you're talking about on Homefield Road. My dash cam captured footage of one of his employees driving my car at well over the speed limit down the bypass and driving it down to the local Ford garage to presumably pick up parts for another customer's job. frown

For the OP:
Mark Fish in Harlow does track/race car prep, I have used him for a front end camber/toe setup.
There's also TF Motorsport in Haverhill but I haven't used them before.

I've used TF Motorsport before and I'm afraid I can't recommend them after a number of problems.
