Hi all

what results did you get on the day?

I was happy with what I got with the scoob, and it answered some questions that I had.

I was not sure if it had been re mapped in the past, and by looking at the fueling/boost, I can say that it is the standard map, as it is over fueling like a mofo, and boost is not controlled.

from the factory on a standard car it should of had around 280 bhp, and I have a sports cat and 3 inch system and a cosworth panel filter.

305.3 bhp
268.7 lbft

So i was more than happy with the results.

thanks
ian

It was a most interesting morning and considering that I'd not run this car on a RR before I had a lot to gain from it. The 124bhp it achieved was way more than I expected though, but kind of explains why the Midget is somewhat lively. With the AFR running between 15 and 16 for the run I have more to come smile

MG Midget 4A-GE - 124bhp, 102lbft on a Megasquirt.

Edit: pic added.

Was nice morning out and friendly bunch.

the celica made 320bhp and 289lbft so cant complain for a 20year old car.

clive said bit lean at 4k. the car runs a dual speed fuel pump so i am hoping with a rewire to fixed speed at full voltage this cures the problem.

Thank you Eddy and Becs for sorting it out and feeding the troops.

Regards Max

I was a little bit apprehensive as I took the shed Impreza. Bit of an unknown as it's a 125K mile WRX with a map that I produced running it.

Headline figure is pretty reasonable for first shot, just shy of 250bhp up from the stock 215. I've got it running reasonably rich to be on the safe side as a significant part of the rest of this car's life will be on track.

The 2nd run confirmed what I've been feeling on the road, that it's having trouble controlling boost. I'm glad it played up as I can see that it's overshooting target boost then overcompensating and ending up cycling +/- 2psi. I've had limited time to log this on the road (it's a pain in the neck, because it really wants to be done in 3rd and taking it to 5000rpm on the public highway.... yeah).

Clive provided some really helpful feedback... look to the wastegate control, once I've made sure the solenoid is good.

I'm now sitting down working on the map and trying to figure the best way to calm down the closed loop feedback without a negative impact on spool speeds. I've also found that the pre '04 ECU kind of sucks at this - no initial WGDC figures, it just constantly adjusts to chase target boost.

168bhp for the mini, stock is 173 and they're not the most reliable so I'm happy with that. Maybe a remap and a few breathing mods next.

konan boost creep is always a nightmare in scoobs. you still got the stock pill in the boost line? playing with that makes a big big diffrence. i forget now but .9mm and 1.2mm ring a bell for starting points. the lines have to be super clean as well they gunk up a bit.

failing that ditch the sol valve and go manual controller ball and spring type simple and work very well.

you running 3" downpipe as well?

I had a good morning out! Nice to meet everyone, and thanks to Eddie and Rebecca for keeping us fed! Hopefully my car will be well enough to make it to the next one, but I know the guys I was with, dc2 and ep3, we're chuffed with their results.

Hi,

I've got all new lines put in after I split the originals! Still on what I believe is the standard restrictor pil (1.2) and have considered dropping down to 1.

I'm going to have a good look at the action of the BCS as the car also went through this when it was completely stock and I sorted it with a good clean up. It could be the solenoid has gone lazy on me. I could just go 3 port, but would still need to retune the WGDC to suit.

Manual controller would be OK, but it would limit the mid range boost - I run up to 18.5PSI at 3K1 but need to bring it down to 15 by about 5K6 else the little TD04 starts blowing out rather hot air wink

Still on a pretty much standard exhaust. Just the 3rd cat removed from the rear. I don't think I have boost creep to the level that you get on the VF turbos as the wastgegate is able to allow enough to bypass to bring it back under control (despite the awful bellmouth design!) - I just think that the ECU is adjusting levels faster than the plumbing is reacting.

My Leon Fr ran 205.8bhp and 289lb-ft on the dyno.
Fairly good gain from the custom remap beings it came out of the factory with 167bhp and 258lb-ft. Would of had a higher torque figure but I requested to have it calmed down abit last week as the wheels would just spin all the time and go no where. And by the look of the printout they have managed to sort a very good line of power and torque throughout the rev range.

Was nice to see a few of you but unfortunately we couldn't stay long as I had just finished a night shift. Thanks again to Eddy for sorting out the bacon rolls as usual smile

Really rather happy with 209bhp and 206 ft lbs torque from a claimed 220bhp and 219 ft lbs when new in my Mercedes E320.

20 years and 124,500 miles have been kind, and I was even happier to learn the true figure would be closer - something to do with the auto gear box and shifting to neutral smile

I was happy, the Integra made 216HP which was +20HP +20lbft from when I had it tested in the summer. The gains came from Mugen Intake, exhaust manifold, decat and twinloop exhaust setup. Now time for remap as it's running a tad rich! Not bad for a 17 year old 1.8 N/A!

nice to see the bmw and honda lads making good power on N/A which is not as easy as just winding the boost up

Good clean out of the BCS and a revised map loaded up. I'm now logging some boost that doesn't generate a graph that looks like the Alps.

Wish I had a rolling road in the garage! Can't wait a year wink
