First time I've actually thought lights on was a good idea was when I was a couple of cars behind you......"no smoke - no poke" was what came to mind

Hmmmmmmmmm..... KTM Diesel !!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJaDTylwunA
I, too, had an enjoyable read of that post. Thanks BC
Thank you to everyone who turned out for another fantastic Fish and Chip Run!
Thank you Mark for all your efforts to organise this Run and for briefing and prize-giving at Stowmarket.
Furthermore, thank you to all the volunteers who stepped forward to help lead groups. Your help really is appreciated
Excellent weather, light traffic (push bike gangs notwithstanding) and an enjoyable route made for such a fun day out.
I was the last to leave, and actually took the reverse of much of the Stow to Aldeburgh route on my way home
So many new faces came out to play, joining the "usual contingent" (you know who you are ) in an amazing array of wonderful, eclectic machinery.
My Norfolk group was a good size, but we all seemed to make it to Stowmarket.
From Stowmarket, I seemed to lose some of my group and when waiting for them, two groups behind me caught up with us!
Then I continued on with a few different cars.
I hear we upset a few locals, despite the respectful and high level of driving everyone demonstrated, but that's nothing new!
All the fun of a PHEA Run!
Should you have any feedback, any and all is welcome so we can improve your experience for the next one.
For you PHEA newbies, WELCOME!
Please get in touch should you wish be added to my PHEA Mailing List, and don't forget to check out www.phea.co.uk for a general idea of what we get up to
If I didn't get round to speak to you, hopefully this is something to remedy when you can next make a PHEA Event.
Finally, you can see my PHOTOS HERE.
Final finally, Next is our second Snetterton Summer Wednesday on 20th May - PHEA THREAD HERE
Thank you again.
I hope to see you all again soon!

Just to echo Darren's comments, I had a really good day with a load of great people.
Firstly thanks to Darren, Dave, Nick, Mick, Ade and Ian for leading the various groups, I don't think we lost too many people
Appologies to those in the Cambridge group for the slight detour, I gave my sat nav to Nick so I had to remember to route, which I obviously didn't do very well!!!
Lots of people out enjoying the sunshine (including a few hundred cyclists, the West Suffolk Classic car club and aload of vintage Bentleys) but we didn't get held up too much
All feedback appricated on the organisation or route (somebody mentioned the pace was a bit too quick, I forgot to say in the brief that there was a slower group uyou could go in so appologies). Also I spoke to the guy at Tesco and he has asked that we get permission form the store manager next year, so in case he says no, does anyone know of an alternative site we coud park up in?
PS who owned the KTM? I followed it for a bit on the way home. It sounded fantastic!!

hi mark, the only comment I could have is that the cars should go in bigger groups, well at least not in small groups like we did from cambs. Maybe 20-30 cars per group?Firstly thanks to Darren, Dave, Nick, Mick, Ade and Ian for leading the various groups, I don't think we lost too many people

Really? Can I ask why? My experience with large groups is that it quickly turns in to a slow procession or people get separated and lost. I think Darren had about 20 in his group and soon lost half of them.markCSC said:

Great day, really enjoyed it, thanks for organising.
The KTM is owned by a friend of mine, Andrew, not a forum member. It's got a big turbo, 340 bhp and about 800kg, big fun! He drove up from Epsom to join us.
Cheers,
Tim

I would tend to agree with BC and Mark, my personal thoughts below
While, as the single leader, I was OK with the Thetford group, we have found in past that larger groups can mean an overall less enjoyable experience for attendees.
I do my usual "go slow" in in built up areas, then drive a little more "spirited" in NSL areas.
Some members don't wish to travel as quickly, while I know others can get a little worried when they lose sight of the person in front. I understand this, so try to keep us together as much as possible.
I have experienced the "slow-fast-slow-fast" method can also cause a bit of a traffic jam for PHers.
Out front, I've accelerated away on a bit of road I know to be enjoyable. Varying traffic flow speed can mean those further back will be past the "fun" bit before traffic frees up enough for safe quicker driving.
When the group numbers grow, these negatives can be exaggerated.
We have found smaller groups makes it easier and more relaxed for all. We generally stay together and the overall pace is as quick as everyone wants it to be.
For larger Runs, like the Fish'n'Chip Run, it also means that people can opt in to a slower or faster group, depending on their preference
I hope this helps explain why we opted for smaller groups, and we can look at how we go about explaining groups and briefing everyone to ensure an enjoyable, relaxed day for all

If mine smoked like that I think I'd just set fire to it.......you'd not notice through all the combustion smoke!
I must confess to sloping up to the Tescos gathering in the little 1 series diesel which is my daily as I couldn't make the run itself on the bike.
I specifically went in Darren's group as I like the spirited part between villages. I knew it would be a fast group and it made the trip for me.
Even with the group we had we lost members trying to get out of Tesco's, let alone along the way. the bigger the group the harder it is to stay together after junctions and traffic lights etc.
Darren, your pictures are shared with your friends only btw so I cannot like or share any of them.
