PHEA RUN: Three Counties Breakfast Run - Sunday 7th June
Discussion
OK so with an ill handling LC and a Merc that doesn't much like corners either I opted to practice my panning technique and take some snaps for people
I was going to take some static pics of the cars at the meet point but I thought better to get a head start and park up at the imfamous "Mini Cooper corner". In hindsight this was a poor decision - I got to the corner and thought I'd take a couple of pictures and the camera was refusing to accept a memory card was installed - there was nothing on there that I hadn't already backed up so I tried removing it cleaning contacts and re-insertion and was able to view one picture so I tried to re-format card and it didn't much like that either... Spare card was in the other camera bag at home so I abandoned this location and went via home (collected card and went to the next location I'd planned.
I can safely say that I had plenty of warning of the approach
Audible Warning count down 10-11 mins from first hearing one of the group in the distance...
Now I'm no camera expert on manual settings so what you get is what you get and the first shots looks like I had to short a shutter time as I was trying to get a bit of motion blur.
Not the noisy one
Nope not that one either (although it makes a nice noise)
It'll be that one then
Or this one on lift off
Whisper quiet
Err I snapped it cos I figured if a 1.2 L i3 VW Polo was keeping up with an Elise it must be part of the group (right answer)
Bloody nothing had been past for ages - you lot arrive and......
Have a lousy V6 substitute
Meth Addict
Nearly didn't get this one it crept up in stealth mode
Tail End Charlie (not that charlie)
Then the race was on - to get to Garboldisham by a more direct route before you guys and girls
That proved just a bit impossible twarted by 1 horse box, mummy duck and her 5 little ducklings crossing the A134 (Need a sticker for the back window "I stop for ducks" I nearly had a oil burning C220 imprint in my bootlid) and then on the Diss road 2 vintage tractors frankly ruined what chance I had.
Plan change - Larling Angel approach
Plenty of time to park up
Take in the scenery
Audible Warning count down 7 mins
If your not first your last
ker-tish
Damn they come thick and fast
Brrrrrr - Pop Pop
Best of the three
Junior supercar (seriously I like them)
Is this a Toymotor engined one or K series
Again in stealth mode
Tail End Charlie (no not that sort of charlie)
Breakfast time my work is done - well apart from the car park shots
Source of ker-tish
Nice arse mr and mrs muttleysnoop
I'm pretty sure that was handbrake turned into there
Oh that sort of Meth..... sorry
Someone who like me cannot bear to see a angled PH sticker (I think now I look closer it's maybe not as straight as it should be - twitch twitch.......)
This has my OCD off the charts
All that glitters is not gold
Nice way to tighten up those awful shut lines you see on Japanese cars - those companies could learn a lot from British Leyland.........
The "Pandas" (eats shoots and leaves) - nearly works really need something better for the we'll just turn up for breakfast at a social hour mob [/joke]
Conclusions - Well it seems I should stick to taking pictures of flowers

Great run this morning, really enjoyed it .... Thanks for organising it Darren.
Nice change in route too ..... Apart from the slight loss of bodywork it was good to stretch the cars legs trying to keep pace behind Scran's Mini and Darren's RS4.
A few things to sort on the car now but lookig forward to the next one .....

Billy bonus extra
This had all the potential to end up going horribly wrong......
Ladies and Gentlemen let me present to you our newest youngerest PH'r
Passenger side - seriously you guys worry me
OK so the view forward is going to be limited but ear protection - clever move
Of course the driver was far to much of a gent to nail it and scare a small child......... Clunk baaaaaah baaaaaaaaaaaaah baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah crackle pop bang......... Oh maybe not......
So I reckoned either a howling return (not the MK Indy - that howls well enough as it is) or a grin as wide as her face .......
I'm not the father so while the test ride was underway I questioned Mark to get an inside edge before placing my bet....... It seemed a howling return was a near dead cert possible from a short conversation.......
Virtual bets were laid and I honestly though I was onto a winner on return - first words heard from a very quiet child was that "I wanna get out?" no what damn my poor ears - "how do I get out?" Bloody "Cheshire Cat" clambers out - not too many words but a big smile - Bah they say never work with children or animals

On the subject of wing fixing - could you use rivet nuts in the stays?Nice change in route too ..... Apart from the slight loss of bodywork it was good to stretch the cars legs trying to keep pace behind Scran's Mini and Darren's RS4.

Kept it under 6k revs and 50mph ........ ??
Mark your little girl was the best passenger I've had in the car .... No panic on her face just sheer joy. ?? And first I've had that's been speechless because they've enjoyed it .... ??
Ah yes - of course - it just sounds so fast - I mean standing still it looks like it's doing a million mile an hour Mark your little girl was the best passenger I've had in the car .... Just in case Mrs markCSC has forum access
What an enjoyable morning!
Thank you so very much to all who came out!
Not too much traffic, spectacular weather, a fine mix of machinery and human company, tasty food, no police letters and only one upset local!
Compared to last year, I changed most of the post-garage stop route and I hear I made a couple errors with my notes - I'll get that sorted for next year
I hope everyone enjoyed their drive and breakfast.
Lots of "repeat customers" and a couple of PH newbies, too! Welcome to you If you wish to be added to my PHEA Mailing List, please message me with an email address
Thanks must go to The Angel in Larling for hosting us once again. And thank you for bunching up so I could squeeze in!
TomM3: Sorry to hear of your "off". I was happy to hear you were OK, and I hope the TVR is too! I turned back after, but met those who stopped after you'd rescued the car from the field and heard you were good and heading back home.
BC: Great photos in another enjoyable post! Thanks for going ahead to take those pics, too
As ever, feedback is more than welcome, no matter what it may be.
With its continued popularity (and, personally, my enjoyment), I'll certainly be having another Three Counties Breakfast Run
Finally, you can find my PHOTOS HERE
Next up, Cars on the Green on Sunday 21st June, details for which will follow very soon
