I'm only in Birmingham so easily doable in the day, but would be silly to do the trip twice. Anywhere you'd recommend?
There's a Premier Inn about 12 miles away, it also has a pub!Address: 12 Clenchwarton Rd, West Lynn, King's Lynn PE34 3LW
Phone:0871 527 8570
Guys,
I am signed up for both days and have been emailing trying to add my son on as a passenger/spectator, he is 18 years old. I've had no answer, can you advise how I can do this and if you need anything in advance? I seem to recall there was an additional charge or similar for non driving additionals?
I only just found this thread lol!

I've missed the "closed-by" date whilst I was away.
Amid the flurry of e-mails, etc. can someone confirm if I can make it on the list for this event ?
for booking, it'll be me + girl + Holden for both days, as expected. Same details as last years....
thanks
Balls, me too but through my procrastination alone! If there's anyway I can slide in, I'd be eternally grateful. I can pay immediately too of course.Amid the flurry of e-mails, etc. can someone confirm if I can make it on the list for this event ?

Hopefully you might still get in as your car was there last year and has been through the security checks?

I know, my stomach dropped when I read that post. I didn't even realise there was a cut off date!Hopefully you might still get in as your car was there last year and has been through the security checks?
I've emailed them directly through the website too, pleading with their better nature. Fingers crossed they'll take pity on my stupidity.
And you're right, the car (and I) was there last year and I behaved too.

Hi,
What's is marham like for stone chippings? I am aware of FOD for airside areas, but does it get small sharp chippings appearing after a few hours of cars tearing around. If there's still time and space I'm contemplating the Ferrari but obsessed with stone chips... Chris
Not great I'm afraid Chris. We went during the summer and after 1 day the front of the cars looked like they had been shot blasted What's is marham like for stone chippings? Luckily they were both dedicated (and cheap) track cars so not worried about the paint, but I would never bring anything nice to Marham. Better to stick to proper circuits. That said it is still a great day out and I will be going again.

There's a link to extra wide masking tape above.

I've already booked in for Sunday but after talking to 2 other Elise drivers who have been to previous events they said their cars got ruined. The side sills on Elises are particularly prone to stone chips due to the design and just going around by yourself will mess the car up. I don't want to go now as the state of the track wasn't made clear at all and the Elise is just too low and prone to stones . I suppose you guys won't refund either? :-( I can't find a number to call you on
Sorry, but you are right. My TVR chassis had all the paint shot blasted off it near the wheels by the grit on the track surface.
And my radiator was punctured by a flying stone last year.
My windscreen looks like this after 5 Marham track days
And the front of the car looks like this, and I was careful not to follow anyone too closely
It's a fantastic weekend, great fun, good charity, but don't take an unmarked car that you treasure.
Hi all
some people get more chips than others on marham
But trust me I see more cars smashed up at snetterton / Caldwell
Brands hatch hitting tyre walls barriers etc
Never take your pride n joy on a track day
If you don't want to bend it chip it or break it
Don't take it
Buy a track car !! And enjoy it

Points well made, and taken Chris.
On the other side of the coin, Cadwell & Snetterton are smooth and stone-free race tracks. So long as you don't bin it (I haven't so far) it does no damage to the painty bits of the car.
But you do need to beef up the mechanical bits for a road car to survive serial track days. I have improved the brakes and suspension, baffled the sump, changed the CV joints, improved the oil, seats and belts and installed a roll cage . And the car was one intended for track use by the manufacturer.

Shame. If you were booked-in why not come along anyway? I'm sure you'll be able to blag some passenger rides, and if you're there on Saturday and the Lexus is going OK then you're welcome to drive a lap or two in that.
Same for me - I'm planning many, many passenger rides out....Car just about prepared, just waiting for my new brake discs to be delivered. Got even harder brake pads and super brake fluid this time - hopefully I won't be limited by the brake fluid boiling I had last year.
