Just a heads up the EDP reported that the new speed cameras will be switched on next monday.
I presume they will be average speed cameras.

Ironic seeing as how this road has to be one of the most frustratingly slow roads in the UK. Little wonder that accidents happen when drivers try to overtake the resident geriatrics in their eco crap cars.

Perhaps a uniform minimum 60mph limit would be more helpful.

It's so that when the road is a bit clearer as midnight draws close on a Sunday that you get a bit too spirited (as it's as straight as a roman road and flat on this stretch) and "gladly" top up the coffers for the council!

Oh sorry, a safety (s)camera you say? To deter people from driving over 45 mph.... even when there is NO lorry/rolling road block in front of you... get it now! :-(

No 'A17 hero' cameras. You know, to congratulate the people that will try to go three abreast and squeeze between the lorries.
