You really do need to sort out the traffic problems your base causes in the mornings!

I'm all for security, but honestly, you should get your staff off the main road and into some secure "holding pen" or parking area before searching the cars as they enter the base.

Traffic queues were at least a mile....and it wasn't just slow moving, it was practically stationery. It took me at least 20 mins to do one mile.
I thought the whole point of making a new entrance further down the road was to stop this problem?

Well, next time I'm going that way at 8am I will take the longer A11 route to Thetford and back in towards Brandon.

A total joke.

Hi Gary,

Trust you're well generally, other than this morning's event..

Not my location, but I have visited there over the last few months. It's bad enough at peak morning traffic normally, but last time I was there they had just started extensive redevelopment of the road and gate area inside the base, so that may be making it worse than usual. IIRC, the new gate is for visitors/ non-pass holders.

Thanks for the explanation Mark. I must admit, it's been a while since I went past there at that time of day!

I'm well, thanks for asking. Semi retired now, but still doing lots on the house. Hope you and your family are well too smile

I used to live in Brandon and work in Cambridge for many years (moved away in 2006) and if you timed it wrong you could be backed up almost to the edge of town. Looks like nothing has changed even with the new gate.
