Hi guys,
Examples of attendees include Lamborghini Gallardos, Murcielagos, Diablos and a Ford GT.

Is that from the current crop, or previous ones...
If current, I might be tempted to brave the stone chips again...
Go on, you know it makes sense, particularly with a bit of fablon protection!
Just for everyone's info, Keith has taken over the organising of this, very much along the same liones as the last couple of track day weekends, as I have now been posted down to London a couple of weeks ago and am now working there, which makes remote control organising rather difficult. I am hoping to get up there for at least part of the weekend with the MGA, subject to successfully getting back from holiday and convincing the missus that I really need to go, when we are off competing in the British Off Road Championship the following weekend - hope to see you there,
MG Mark

Is the main runway section going to be as long as the last day earlier this year or...
Yes, about a mile of the main runway will be used; enter it at about 90mph so a v-max run will be quite possible.
On another note, are pms available on this forum, I can't seem to find them.
Cheers

Will the track layout be the same as earlier this year or more like last years?
Not a critisism at all but just from a participants perspective pros and cons of the two layouts
First Trackday
- Ran Clockwise
- 2 very slow chicanes
- Limited corners but very well defined and relatively easy to learn the apexes
- Main runway entered via a 85mph sweeper that allowed a slingshot onto the runway
It was quite hard on rear tyres but gentle on fronts (except if you entered the chicanes too quickly)
Trackday earlier this year
- Ran Anticlockwise
- 2 much quicker chicanes (more open but still restrictive)
- Slower entry onto the main runway (really awkward bend and hard to apex correctly)
- Lovely 100 mph sweeper
- Very complicated and visually difficult series of corners (mainly due to a sea of cones that made it very hard to find apex points and visualise the corners)
It was murder on the front tyres (due to the series of corners) and hardly anyone who kept their car "tail in" had much rear tyre wear
Like i said NOT critisism just a viewpoint -whatever you do circuit wise I am sure it will be enjoyed
It will be the same as the on in April. Reason being it has more appeal to more people. I appreciate the cones issue but after just a couple of laps I found it quite easy to see where the track was going (even from a low point of view in the NSX). I also appreciate it was hard on tyres but that is the nature of such a fast course.
Many thanks

I quite liked the coned corners, allowed me to throw the MINI round them beautifully & I'm not too confident about the 100mph corner and there were many people taking totally different lines through it! I'm on the same tyres as the April trackday and there's not much tread on them at all so I'm also hoping desperately that it doesn't rain as I might just keep sliding for ever and ever on the concrete chicaned corners!
I thought the April layout was pretty good and those we spoke to on the day said it was an improvement on last years one.

From an Elise driver's POV I thought the April layout was pretty good. Massive long straights aren't the natural hunting ground of an Elise but there was enough technical interest to keep me entertained.
Agree with Darren here, something for everyone. The first half of the course (long straights and sweeping corners) suited my TVR perfectly whilst the 2nd half with all the tight twisties were perfect when I prised the keys of my mate and nabbed his Elise. The only thing that would have been better IMHO would have been different coloured cones on the inside to the outside, which would have made it a little easier to see where some of the corners actually went amongst the sea of cones. But, as you drove more the track became easier to navigate...
just unfortunate I won't be able to make this one. Until next year then!!
Scott & I want to do both days please (another change!) but one/two of our guests might want to come along as passengers on the Sunday, having taken their bike(s) round on the Saturday. Is it a possibility arranging this at the latest on the Saturday afternoon after the track day?
I'm confusing myself with all the organising - got to get four people sorted!

As long as I have the passengers' details in advance, which if they are riding on the Saturday I must have, they will simply be able to use their personal passes to get in with you on the Sunday.
On the subject of bikes, I have very little interest at the moment with only 10 bikes registered; if I don't get at least 20 I will have to cancel the bike sessions. I will individually let all bike applicants know next week if this is the case.
Many thanks
Keith
On the subject of getting more bikes, I've put a post up in Biker Banter, which is now a sticky and also posted it on a few biker forums too. Fingers crossed there'll be another 8-10 takers before Keith decides to cancel - although I have a feeling that they'd better get their skates on!
