Hi - my daughter is getting married on Sat Aug 19 2006, near Royston, Herts. The groom is a Ferrari & Lotus fan and we would like to have him picked up at Royston as a surprise and driven to the wedding venue at Melbourn (approx 3 miles). I've tried sourcing a chauffeur company, but no luck. So - is there anybody out there with a Ferrari or a Lotus sports car within striking distance and interested in a handful of notes for a 10 minute drive? If not, can anyone point me in the right direction? Email jones@mcaservices.co.uk, phone 01763 242762 (home).

Thanks
Fred Jones

Does he like Noble's? I'm in Cambridge and could help out. (subject to dates, but could get another one to do it otherwise)

What about an Ultima!! Gary???

G

On this note, I was best man last year in Epsom, going to the venue the day before I spotted it was just next to Marranello's, the Ferrari, Mazza dealer. So I cheekly popped in and spoke to the manager and asked if he could give my mate a lift round the corner the next morning.

He was really pleased to do so. Next morning as I was approching the place with my very nervous passenger, I pulled into the dealer. My mate was really pi55ed off with me, shouting that we had not got time etc etc.

I got out and went into get the manager, who came out and opened the passenger door and said. "I wish to congratulate you Sir upon reaching your wedding day in one piece, now if you would like to risk getting to the church in one piece, then I would like you to pick the ferrari of your choice to take you there!"

My mate, got driven at brakeneck speed in a brand new 575 maranello in black, and loves me to this day!!

Hope you get your son taken there in a lovely new Ferrari!

Try posting on the fezza forum too.

Sorry you haven't had more luck Fred - if TVR was on the list you might have had more luck!

Well, if I still have the Ultima then, I would be happy to oblige, but I won't know till the last minute! Royston is only 10 mins away for me too!

If that's of any use, let me know.

Hi all – thanks for taking the time & interest in trying to help! Unfortunately nothing quite hits the spot yet, but there's still 6 weeks to go.

Big Cheese – thanks, real nice motor, but I guess it’s a square peg for a round hole.
Mr noble – I don’t know, I’ll check with my daughter but she seemed specific.
Gtr-gaz – real nice car, ditto
Greg – cool story, nothing like that too local but I’ll keep it in mind.
Peterpsg – the bride’s taken care of, I have a ’58 Chevy Impala in my garage!
Nervous – I don’t know if it would suit, do you have a photo? (loved your Profile, I’m still laughing my socks off!)

A last thought, if anybody has photos & can email them, I’ll pass them on to my daughter

Thanks again, much appreciated

I may be at Silverstone that day - but if not (and can find out pretty quickly) I'm happy to offer up my Exige. I'm only a few miles from Royston anyway.

It's a fairly swish example too - the one-off 'Espionage' special edition.

Fred,

Just a thought, post your message in the Ferrari forum (ferrari, maserati, lamborghini) - you may have more success there...

Cheers
John

Hi all

Just a note to say a big thank you to all of you for your help. My daughter has asked me to pass on her thanks too. Anatole's Lotus Espionage hit the right spot with the bride - it turns out that the groom knows this car and is quite a fan, but he doesn’t know he’s getting one on the day! The other cars you guys offered look superb too, but I guess it’s “horses for courses”.

I‘ve been so impressed with the offers to help on this forum, it restores your faith in human nature!

Thanks again folks, if it’s do-able I’ll post a photo on this forum after the big day (19th August).

Cheers

There's a chance I could make it if a silver Elise is of interest. Won't be able to confirm for a couple of weeks but will help out if I can.

Hi Mark

Thanks very much, I greatly appreciate the offer - but I've already accepted Anatole's Espionage as indicated above. I'll keep it in mind, though, just in case anything goes wrong.

Cheers

Hey guy,

The requirements fred jones was asking for is exactly the kind of business im trying to build up. The situation is i work with 2 guys, between them they have:

Ferrari F430
Porsche 996 turbo
bentley Arnage
2 x AMv8
RAnge rover vogue
Range rover sport

The deal is if i can get clients like Fred then i'll happy chauffeur them. Really it just for the experience of driving the cars.

I've built a website with some of the cars on it, www.specialdaycars.com Im looking for some advice on how to design the website, have i got the pricing structure right, where's the best place to advertise, ect and thought this was the best place to ask?

Any advice on where is should start would be much appreciated.
