Hi gang going to take Junior for a blast to France for a few days. Normally treck south but will not have time, so any suggestions much appreciated. Three hours or so from Calais, nice market town by the coast or by a river. Any help would be much appreciated.

Honfleur. Lovely small market town on the north coast just to the west of Le Havre, fantastic harbour, old buildings, all well preserved, and a good market. Nothing in common with tacky seaside resorts. About 2-3 hours from Calais depending on how quick you drive, autoroute avaialble for pretty much all the way, or a lot of good coast road as well if you want the scenic route.

Laon, medieval town few hours from calais, or Reims/Epernay champange houses and lovely scenery with marked driving routes / champange tours. Also the old Reims GP circuit. Been to both. Although both done with a group of us.
