Heard some guy on Radio Broadland saying these things normally happen every 50 years or so.

Clue the fact that the last major flood was 53 years ago.

Seen similar happenings at Blakeney. City folk don't seem to know what tides are

At exceptionally high tides they close the car park. At other times you just have to use common sense. A few years ago I was sitting in the car park watching the tide closing in around a car. When the driver turned up the water was lapping around the doors and the tail pipe was under water. I was surprised the engine started!

Doh,

so the next time you buy a bag of aggregate/pebbles for your garden/house project, ask yourself/them where it really came from...

Lots of channel dredging == even smaller East Anglia...
