...or are Norfolk retards getting worse.

Yesterday on a trip from Naarwich to Bungay I was flashed three times by overtakees. And two of them sped up as I passed them. And I was driving the family diesel not the 911.

It's really starting to get on my tits now. What's the correct procedure when some 45mph slowster starts with the attitude just because you have the audacity to want to travel at a reasonable speed? I wasn't even chancing dodgey overtakes.

They are getting worse. yes

We've had this the past couple of weeks - getting flashed when you're overtaking safely, I think it's because sometimes we catch them unawares & they haven't got the chance to engage their brain to accelerate to make it more difficult/dangerous to overtake. They happily poodle along at 40-50mph in 60s and 70s and suddenly decide they just have to go faster now there's a VX or Mini hurtling up behind them - ridiculous. hehe

As you point out you don't need to be driving an sports car to recieve 'the treatment'. A driver was really pootling at under 20mph in Victoria Road (thrufare Diss) I went to overtake whilst driving my dramatically fast Punto (well I was doing 30mph) and the tw*t swerves across the road to stop me overtaking. He did this several times. WTF.

oh yes,
spend alot of time driving round Wroxham/the broads area, full of OAP's,holiday makers with no thought for other drivers(lack of indicating and braking for no reason)and now the school run has started again,oh joy!.Then there's the driver in front who cant make up their mind what speed to do,if you look closely you can see they keep facing the passenger and chatting(probably about murray mints, knitting or yesterdays blue rinse)Overtake them at your peril!
No wonder people get red mist...1...2...3...4...5...6...PHEW!
Glad to get that off the chest

It happens to me quite a lot.

The best thing to do is hang back and then you can catch them by surprise. I often find that people flash for the tailgating before the overtake.

The speeding up isn't so much of a problem because I do tend to plan and get a few mph on them before I've pulled out. Although how a sane mind can think it's ok to deliberately make somebody spend more time in danger than they'd planned to before the overtake is beyond me.

But it's the flashing when you've passed them that really ticks me off. It shows a mind so small and a personality so despicable that it makes me want to lay them out. And this is highly unusual for me!

I was passing a slow moving (45mph) line of traffic , about 5 cars. Over took them all and pulled in behind holding the traffic up. It was a Clio Williams of some sort, indicated, down into 3rd as there was a car coming towards me (but was plenty of room to over take) just as I got level they floored the clio and I was about level and off boost. The car coming towards me was gaining on me fast and the tit behind me closed up the Gap. Dropped down into 2nd got boost and left them for dead.
It was at this point I saw the police van and 2 police cars in the layby and I was doing way over *** mph. Pulled over to my side off the road and stood on the breaks, car popping and banging on over run for added effect........ The Cleo had no option but to over take me as they couldn't`t stop and were by this time doing may be 120... and had just hit a 40mph zone. The speed trap was not going to be visible to them till it was too late. By this time I was back to 40 mph as the police pulled him from his car, I think by the time they clocked him he was doing 110mph in a 40.

All I really wanted to do was over take a slow car with out speeding....
