Shot Blasting and Cad Plating.

Hi all,

I’ve spent the afternoon in the garage stripping a couple of rover V8 injection systems and what I have ended up with id a box of aluminium parts that I would like to get shot blasted and a box of nuts, bolts and washers that I would like to get re plated.

Has anyone had anything like this done? Does anyone know of any good local companies the will do this? (I’m based in Ely, north cambs) or, for the shot blasting, preferably, does any have a shot blasting cabinet the could let me have access to for a few hours? Cheeky I know but I would be willing to pay you in cash, beer, knowledge or even sex? rolleyes

I’m also on the lookout for a company that does powder coating if anyone knows one?

Any recommendations would be highly appreciated,

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Scott

oops, looks like my other half has been using my computer to post again, the above post was supposed to be me before you all start getting excited about the getting paid in sex bit. (its still quite exciting though?)

However I must piont out that she did spend most of the afternoon with her head under the bonnet stripping the carb and manifold off, I was most impressed!!

Be carefull with what you have powdercoated as far as engine parts go.... As a general rule if it gets hot consider conventional paint or a high temperature coating

Most powdercoaters do the shotblasting in house and vicky verki!!

Do a search for blasting companies in the yellow pages

We're getting the plating done at P'boro Plating & shotblasting at a place in Soham - maybe it's the same place - I can't remember off the top of my head. Thank you for all of your recommendations.

Hannah.

Thanks chaps - we did get some bits done at the Soham place and weren't particularly thrilled with their results. Peterborough Plating were very good however. We need more bits both blasting & plating so will try some of the other places you have recommended.

For powder coating I use Morley Bros, opposite the Milton Tescos by the A10/A14 roundabout in Cambridge. Results have been pretty good.
